They keep spraying the cheese every week cos the mites eat so much of the cheese!!!!!! I loved almost every cheese , but never that blue stuff!!! Thank god, I see the things crawling & fighting each othere every time I think of cheese cos that's what they do in the cheese! Sorry but I can never eat the stuff again, go on the web they show videos of the mites in cheese , hope I've not put you off! Had to change my diet! Sorry Cumberland, no cheese savouries or anythink cheesey for me againOh dear

Nothing that I can think of Vicky only difference is what I have tea .Did you do anything different last night? Or should I not ask? lol
Have you considered a supper in future?
I hope your better off this evening.
Need matchsticks this morning .Did you have a better none hypo night sleep?
Steriods do affect bgs but are sometimes very necessary.
Would you be surprised if they offered you insulin just til specialist sorts out your condition?
I do keep thinking that may end up on insulin at some point Vicky even my mate at work who is type 1 keeps telling me I should be on insulin .Did you have a better none hypo night sleep?

@tina_marie how are you? I'm hoping your scatica has now gone.Been for a walk into town with Ron and he tested when we got back , his BG levels have dropped back into the low 5s. That's using his codefree metre .
Not to bad thanks Vicky. Hows your lad doing? Sciatica has been a right b just lately but with walking I have been able to go painkiller free. The problem I have of late is with dry eye. Have drops to use but vision has not been good of late . In fact Rons eyes have been better than mine . I was quite tired this morning due to lack of sleep with Rons neuropathy in his legs. He had no hypos last night as I've become quite a light sleeper lately. Can't wait for his appointment with the neurologist, then we both might get some sleep. Hope all is well with you and the rest of the gang. Xxx@tina_marie how are you? I'm hoping your scatica has now gone.
When I needed a crutch I found my bgs good. I had to work harder to walk. I used more energy, if fact I lost weight. Maybe Ron is doing the same?
The steriod thickens the muscles which uses more energy. He will be stronger but only a temporary strength and might get the munchies. Things will settle down.
Once specialist gives Ron the correct treatment plan. It will make some difference. The 29th will be a turning point.
Steady bgs aren't easy, especially in a body prone to painful episodes and distress.
We can only try our best.
Ron has a lot going on so to suggest he fights on with a very low carb lchf diet would be stupid to start such undertaking. If he's mindful of carbs and includes them in his diet with occasional treat he will have gone a fantastic job.
The diabetes has to run along with Rons more important needs. Pain relief and releasing triggers from causing more eye damage.
Keeping his bgs below 7.8mmol/l is supposed to help. That's all we diabetics can do. Anything else is a mammoth venture with no guaranteed results.
Myself i never ask of someone i cannot do myself.
Keeping pain free and happy is a bonus but very very achievable.
Enjoy hols. Life is for the living!
I'm hoping the next fews days fly by for you.Not to bad thanks Vicky. Hows your lad doing? Sciatica has been a right b just lately but with walking I have been able to go painkiller free. I wonder whether your dry eyes might be something to do with pollen? I've been having the same problem for the past couple of weeks, but only when I am in bed. We're surrounded by fields and farmland and I sleep with the windows open and often have a fan on at night, so I'm pretty sure mine's related to pollen. Once I get up and have a shower it seems to go, but it returns if I spend a long time outside. I have some Otrivine Antistin eyedrops which I've used in the past at this time of year, but now I notice it says they're not suitable if one has diabetes....Not to bad thanks Vicky. hi hun if you use a fan you could actually be making your condition worse. we used one and it was always on my side of the bed. Plus where I worked they used air cons. im approaching the menopause so that could be why ive got it . Other factors are ......postmenopausal women, hormone therapy, vitamin A deficiency, diabetes, laser surgery,a diet low in omega 3 fatty acids.I wonder whether your dry eyes might be something to do with pollen? Weekend was amazing @KevinPotts in the most gorgeous house with huge grounds, thanks for asking. I was generally controlled but consumed 3 slices of proper cake and icingTough at times being in family situation where a couple of people didn't 'get' diabetes and how controlled my diet has to be - but just stuck to my limits, and obviously also consumed huge amounts of cheese and red wine
But now home, had an awesome swim today and looking forward to 5s FBG later this week - well that's my goal.
Also ... look at you Mr Winner - new profile pic awesome, you are the Diabetes poster boy now - well done @KevinPotts - I love people who've met this challenge, not given in and are conquering this disease
Just think of them as some extra protein?Hi hope everyone's ok, since watching food unwrapped haven't ate any cheese. Can't go near the stuff!! I so loved cheese but just can't touch the stuff now, will never eat cheese again. All those mites!!!!
