I'm very disappointed. I know it's very popular but maybe bbc is having bigger problems than it's letting on. Now that would be big news!Bake off should not be that big a story
I got dropped from the TV interview ... maybe the news that Bake Off is going to Channel 4 was more important ....
Eddie any good news?Morning. Day off, I have an appointment with a surgeon today. Weather is awful here, peeshing down and cool - no heatwave here.
Hi all, hope your all well, @PenfoldAPD sorry about show being cancelled, would have been more interesting than bake off! Wonder how liam1955 is? Well I hope, hope it all went well for him, friend of mine starts a new chemo trial tomorrow, had lung removed, lovely man his wife has MS, both lovely people, hope all goes well for them. Morning bgs high again 7.1. Under stress at moment. Family problems , that's life
So I did make the news section of Diabetes UK - and I made sure the text included low carb mention!

Saw your interview. Congratulations on a nice clear story. What I thought was particularly valuable in your interview was the part where you talk about how your own feelings about your health being attributable to being over tired were masking your real situation. The doc who suggested testing you deserves a little early holiday gift, no? Very astute of him. I had to literally make an appointment with an endocrinologist myself for a fasting blood sugar test while all my previous docs were clueless and never tested me, or if they did, at the wrong time. I thought it was also good that you let people know that your partner had the test without the same result because some people actually think that eating a particular diet causes diabetes and since they would assume that you and your partner share a diet, that would be informative in itself.
For example, docs will sometimes have you come in fasting for a bunch of tests and then after travelling to the tests, sitting in a lab and other exercise on an empty stomach, a single finger prick is not going to show much.
Kudos for your job well done
well my chocolate and sweet days are numbered and it's making me very miserable...no sweets cakes biscuits choc it's cruel lol
Thanks, worries with my daughter, Anyway perhaps you could go on bake off & talk about diabetes while they bake the cakes, would be funny conclude ring all the sugar they use in those cakes, pity would have been good to see you on tvStress had an awful effect on my BG, hope you can find so,e relief soon [hugs]

Read interview, very good, congratulations, I complained for years, had all the symptoms but as I was size 8/10 & slim doctor couldn't believe it, good you got checked out, keep up the good workThanks for your comments. I wanted to make people realise how diabetes can just appear in your life without warning - I wasn't obese, I wasn't a sugar monster (the classic misrepresentations many people have) - with close to 1m not diagnosed the population needs to realise how dangerous this condition can be. But, once you get on top of it you can control it

I had symptoms at 6yr old @PenfoldAPD . I have photographs of being chubby but ate same as my skinny sister. Different metabolism. I believe I was diabetic at 6yr old. Thrush and tiredness with energetic bursts. Hormones were never right in pubity and weight piled on through unmanaged diabetes. My GP sent me away on a numerous occasions with a cream. I didnt have a clue what life was all about never mind diabetes. Thanks for your comments.
