Hi I’m Janice
I live in South East England
I’m very happily married
I have two beautiful Bernedoodles
I have type 2 on metformin
I’m a people pleaser. I’m kind down to earth can be quite anxious and a worrier.
I’m still trying to get my head round what I can & can’t eat.
I’ve been to many countries but if I had to pick my favourites that would be Aruba, Australia & Hong Kong.
I adore my parents and we are very close.
I’m 53yrs
I’ve been married twice .
I’m not wealthy but I’m good at saving.
I work for the nhs
My favourite thing about myself is my hair.
Least favourite is belly.
I love a romcom
Hate scary films (what’s the point)
Love tattoos on a man
Love 80’s music
Love going to London west end.
Favourite theatre show Les miserable
Hate negativity

Hello Janice, and welcome!
The can and can't eat thing is easy enough to solve: get yourself a meter, and test before a meal and 2 hours after the first bite. If your blood glucose rises more than 2.0 mmol/l, there were more carbs in the meal than your body could process. So you're aiming for that or less. It's the carbs we have a problem with, so go from there. https://josekalsbeek.blogspot.com/2019/11/the-nutritional-thingy.html might help some get you started, but since you're with the NHS, maybe you'd be interested in/drawn to more in-depth stuff like Dr. Jason Fung's The Diabetes Code. Your background in medical care could be quite a help on this journey for you!

Anyway, again, welcome to the club, hopefully we can be of use. :)
Jo
