On a coach holiday last week.and had an incident. Before it happened I was very shakey & clammy. Went to get my dextrose. Next thing I knew I was coming round (it happened so quick ) went to the drs on return not interested said no need to test so have to buy my own test strips

What medication are you on for your diabetes?
 
Hi there @christine poland . It sounds like you had quite the scare. We cannot, of course, diagnose as it's against forum rules. It would be helpful for our members to know a little about you. I see you have not added any information on your profile. Our user profiles help us to answer questions like the type of diabetes you have, what medications you are on or your age, if you wish to disclose it.

Do you have any other health issues besides diabetes? Being clammy and shakey are signs of low blood sugars, but equally there are other health conditions, not related to diabetes that present with those symptoms. Did your Dr investigate the cause?
 
I used to get machine and strips on prescription but it stopped a couple of years ago.
I think with the rising numbers of diabetics it has become to expensive for the NHS to do for us which is fair enough.
I got a decent machine on Amazon and test strips are around 18 quid for a 100... I'm happy with that.
