If you read other topics on this forum you will see that this advice is pretty standard from diabetic nurses but many of us disagree as we have found much success by reducing our carb intake. My advice would be to start by avoiding bad carbs such as potatoes, white bread, pasta, pizza, white rice, cakes, biscuits and other refined carbs.Hi all I have just been diagnosed with type 2 by my nurse. I have a couple of questions. My nurse said that I should eat more carbs than I am. Do I look for carbs with a low sugar or high sugar? I have to see her again in three months and have been given Metaformin 500g twice a day. My second question is that by reading some of the topics on here it appears that people are taking there own readings on a regular basis. Should I ask for an appointment well before the three month time. My reading was7.4
