"We have demonstrated that people with type 2 have high level of pathogens in their intestines," says professor Jun Wang from the University of Copenhagen's Department of Biology and Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research.
Important intestinal bacteria
The 1.5 kilograms of bacteria that we each carry in our intestines have an enormous impact on our health and well being.

urgh! 8)

Interesting - I wonder what implications switching to an alkaline diet would have on this bacteria????

Hmmmm.....

they dont say whether high sugar levels are causing the high levels of hostile bacteria. Which is possible. So eating to our meters will prevent the high blood sugars which the bacteria feed off - which will, in turn, stop the overgrowth of bad bacteria.

I think

There are also studies about H.Pylori being present in many Type2s.

HPylori Bacteria Linked to Blood Sugar Control in Adult Type2.

It is easy to eradicate once a blood test has established that it is present. A course of antibiotics at a high dose and a further blood test to show that it has gone.
