Hello @giddyupgo1973 and welcome aboard this thread for type 2 foodies. We're pleased you could join us.Today so far:
B : Huel Black shake, with 1/3rd pint of semi skimmed milk.
L : Baked chicken breast (with this dry rub : https://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/the_best_dry_rub_for_chicken/), 2 slices Gouda, 6 x cherry tomatoes. followed with a Warrior Peanut butter crunch bar. 330 ml diet coke.
D: planned for slow cooked Pork Leg with halloumi fries, and followed up with 150g of greek yoghurt with a tablespoon of Bulk Peanut butter
Same meal as i had yesterday and Glucose stayed within 4-6.5 mm/ol all day.
If posting on this thread has alerted you to some carb creep, that's all to the good.Yesterday munchies;
B - after 10am - 2 pces grilled bacon + 2 poached eggs + 2 slices Vortigen with butter, large black filter coffee
D - before 6pm - smoked salmon + slice whole grain sourdough small glass w. wine
roast sirloin marinated a la Ottolenghi + roasted mushroom + roasted (small) potatoe + celery and fennel salad 3 glasses (sm) r. wine
piece mincemeat/apple crumble tart with a large espresso to finish
Now having looked at that and previous day, it looks a bit as though the low carb aspect is/has been pushed to one side.
I have a bit of a problem here in that since initial diagnosis I have lost weight (down from 17st7 to 15st6 having been rather strict diet wise), then bloods again to find that I was in prediabetic range. At this result I eased up on diet - as above - but have continued to loose weight (down to 15st, lowest 14st12). I look ill apparently. So, how to not loose any further weight but maintain low carb diet is what I am adjusting to.
@bitofagit The 3 glasses of red wine may have lowered your 2 hour reading, but the effect of alcohol is temporary.Today:
B - at 11.00 - 2 slices vortigen toasted + butter, half cup greek yoghurt sprinkle of museli black filter coffee
D - at 16.30 - 6 small puff pastry with goats cheese tarts
slow roast lamb + 2 small roast pots + greens, 3 glasses r. wine
small piece mincemeat/apple crumble tart (last bit) ............... coffee machine kaput therefore mug of filter coffee
Have not tested since beginning of November and so ..................
Before dinner - 5.4
2hrs after - 7.7 .................... not too bad considering
However, and I have not continued to test like this before ...
3hrs after - 8.4
4hrs after - 8.9 ........... at least it appears to have slowed/peaked

Hi @bitofagit Bread is mostly carbohydrate. (The exact amount per slice depends on type and how thickly it's sliced). Now, I happen to love shellfish and fish in general, and therefore - livinglightly - your eating habits look to be rather enjoyable.
However, I do notice a distinct lack of anything bready.
Do you dismiss bready stuff entirely?
Hello @bitofagit. I adore coffee and enjoy its preparation and accompanying aroma almost as much as the drink itself.Yesterday
B - 10.15am - 2 slices vortigen with butter, half cup greek yoghurt with sprinkle museli large filter coffee
about 2.00pm handful mixed nuts, apple
D - 5.30pm - a little pulled lamb, hummous, black olives, small mixed salad, small flat bread ..... coffee machine fixed! therefore large espresso
