Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Morning All

5.7 for me today and the cold is fully developed...

Sam - many folk on here achieve good control by following Low Carb, High Fat diets (LCHF). Do a quick search on it and you will see what I mean.

Hi yes, got a reading of 10.5 today 2 hours after porridge and raspberries so a bit worried. I have cut out all chocolate, cakes, pudds, white carbs. Just watching a Jason Fung video about fasting. Seems very interesting...

The strip could have been faulty or the meter playing up or the body temperature or ..... You need more readings. Eat the same tomorrow morning and compare readings.

We were on P and O Oceana and went to Canary islands. Had a lovely time although it did rain twice. Ate a low carb diet, little bread and no potatoes and lost 1 lb. That's 23 lb since end of May. Not doing my glucose as often and doing it at different times during the day .

I had a bowl of porridge with 6 raspberries 2 hours ago and now 10.5. It has never been that high. Had salmon, asparagus, spinach and a heaped tablespoon of cooked brown rice for dinner last night. I dont know what to eat...@Prem51
@Freema

If it were me I would not be eating porridge - it contains a lot of carbohydrate and I control my blood sugars by restricting carbs.

You might want to consider a low-carb approach to food (especially when combined with high-fat), but this isn't the thread to go into detail. There's plenty of info around this site about Low Carb High fat (LCHF), and if you're getting such bad readings after porridge then I think LCHF is something you might like to consider.
