Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

8.0 this morning. Not happy with that, haven't had anything naughty since the pork pie I had on Thursday. Could that still be affecting my BS 2 days later?

7.0 this morning ... this is really weird. OK I had a pork pie last Thursday and my FBG was 8.0 the day after and has been in the higher end of 7s ever since.

Yesterday I was really naughty and ate loads more carbs than I would normally eat - not only did I have half a bar of ASDA milk chocolate but I also had about 3oz of mashed potato with oodles of butter, I also had 6 melba toasts @ 2.6g each topped sandwiched with peanut butter. I expected to be up in double figures but today my FBG was 7.0 :crazy:

7.2 this morning

At about 8.30pm last night I made a strawberry, chia, almond milk, ground almond, coconut shake - followed that with a 2oz block of Red Leicester cheese dipped in peanut butter. :crazy: I was hungry

6.8 at 6.15am today. Was really pleased as this was the first time I had managed to get below 7. It was the same reading on Sunday and forgot to do it yesterday morning. Proves my hard work not eating starchy carbs is starting to pay off in the mornings. Could never get this reading down like I could the rest of the day.

Hi all Most of my morning blood glucose is 11.4 and the lowest i can get it is 8.2

Recently, mine has been between 4.5 to 5.1 in the morning. Two hours postprandial about the same. Quite a surprise last week in France where I couldn't resist half a portion of chips with mayonnaise that came with the meal and was at 4.9 two hours later.

You did the right thing having mayo with the chips, that will have slowed down the absorption of the carbs. :wink:

5.2 at 08:30 today.

I've been in the 5s all week - highest was 5.8, which is high for me. I had been out for my second treat meal of the week, though - I had sausage and mash , but still managed to be at 5.7, 2 hours later . Well done that pancreas! :clap: :lol:

mine on the last two tests is 6.9 didnt think that was to bad though would like it to be lower .

I have been using OnTrack * for the last 3 weeks to enter my Blood Glucose readings (I test every morning and an occaisional +2hrs0 and OnTrack * now shows my average as 5.3 and is predicting an A1c of 5.0, we shall wait and see as not due until March.

* OnTrack is an app for Android devices

Good Morning all,

I hope that we are all well.

I checked my BS this morning and it was 5.2mmol.. Now normally I check it 1st thing, but I decided to shower and get ready 1st.

So I guess 5.2 is not bad, as normally when i check it 1st thing, its about 4.8mmol mark.

Anyway, take care all.

5.5mml very happy, 2 days ago when I tested first thing it was 8.6.
