Somogyi is most relevant to Type 1s but does happen more rarely with some Type 2s.
This site is a bit lukewarm on MCT oil http://healthimpactnews.com/2014/mct-oil-vs-coconut-oil-the-truth-exposed/
I am cautious when there is no scientific association in the text and related to the author, but it's an interesting read.
Thanks Loulou, I just checked some false hypo articles, and corroborated with my clinician's advice, it seems to be the case:-/Headache could be body meeting used to lower level or false hypo
So sorry to hear of your news Comfort, it will take time to take everything in that has happened to you but you can do it, you've done it before, small steps, take time out for yourself and good luck.Hi all. Haven't been here for a while. Was getting levels In 6s few weeks ago. Then like,a bolt from the blue was diagnosed with cancer. Had a big operation 6 weeks, ago and have taken that long to start feeling ok again. Have not been low carbing but havn't gone mad. Level this morning was over 12. Need a bit of encouragement to get back to it. Any help gratefully received.
6.8 this morning but slept in till 8:40, meds were due at 7am so not too worried. Was out with 3 lovely friends last night, had greek food and ate later than norm but bs before bed at 11:50 was 5.8 so very happy with that.

Good afternoon bit late registering my fasting level, it was 6.4 @ 0915 hrs this morning as I was going out for Brunch.
6.0 this morning. Late with meds as completely knackered & slept in. @loulou99782 May I ask...what is a "false hypo" as talked about in above posts. I experience bad headaches when my bg drops below 5.0 & as it gets nearer to 4.0, the headaches are unbearableness.

In essence - a false hypo is hypo symptoms at a level above 4.0 mmol / L. Often experienced when someone starts being consistently lower - blood glucose wise- than their body is used to. It disappears after a period of stability.
Add my gratitude @nomistheman, it helped me too:-DHi @nomistheman,
Thank you for that explanation. You made it easy for me to understand. Very kind of you.
