When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

I use the husks never tried the powder it works for as I struggled after I reduced my fruit to one apple a day

Just a sidetrack question, please:
Does anyone know a source within the UK for psyllium husks, not the tableted ones, but plain, to be used for food thickening, etc.?
H&B doesn't seem to have it anymore...
Thanks in advance,
Moshe
I got capsules from Amazon....

Good morning all. I had a fasting BG reading of 6.1 this morning after a 5.6 reading at bedtime last night.

I hope all the people who are feeling a bit poorly feel better soon.

Before breakfast 5.8
.breakfast
Tin of sardines
Sauerkraut
Tomato
You very
Beetroot
2h test 6.0

I've just done my first 24 hours of testing - got my meter yesterday. But there will be a gap before I can carry on - stupidly, I assumed the meter would come with a good supply of lancets, etc! Still, at least I've learnt how to test myself.

I'd like feedback on the 24 hours of results, though, not just this morning's 9.0.
  • after breakfast 6.5
  • before lunch 7.7 (had had an apple as a snack mid-morning)
  • 2 hours after lunch 5.5 (had been walking for an hour)
  • before evening meal 5.8
  • 2 hours after evening meal 6.0
  • before bed 7.5 (had had plain yoghurt for supper)
  • then this morning when I got up it was 9.0.
I don't understand - is this 'normal'? After that range of scores yesterday, I was expecting something similar.

Sorry off-topic, but the post just arrived with my latest HbA1C result:

31 chuffed to smithereens and actually a bit tearful. Massively grateful to all the lovely people on here!

That's fantastic @Alzebra. Very well done. You're right to be chuffed with yourself coz it's obviously all down to your own hard work. Delighted for you. X

Brilliant results .... chuffed for you .... well done on all your hard work

I'm afraid I've dropped out of this thread.
Consistently 4's and 5's with a reare blip above means there's not much point in keep testing really.
