Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

5.6 this morning, exactly the same as it was a year ago (or so my spreadsheet tells me  )

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

I am NEVER going to get the hang of this diabetes thing!!!!

My FBG this morning was 5.5 - my personal best so far.

The thing is last night I was really bad and had 8 (maybe more) chocolate digestives. At other times when I have been really good by FBG levels are above 6.

I am so tempted to have more choc digestives tonight-had 3 so far

Don't know.

I lost my Contour USB meter at the weekend :(

Which is a pity, because I've just gone back on the Ultra-Low-Carb (<<30g) for the final month of my first year as a T2 Diabetic. (More for accelerated weight loss than for control).

They are £75 on Amazon, and just $25 in the US. Waiting to pick one up there next week.

Are they really that good then? The Accu-Chek Aviva I use is £15 in Boots.

Thanks Nigel. The problem with the American ones are that they are hard wired to American units. I'm getting much better at dividing by 18 though...

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

14.8 this morning......

But only semi-confirmed diagnosis today

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

down in 15 days from fasting average 12 with upper readings of 18 to fasting average of 9 with upper readings of 14 -see what u can do. I know I have along way to go. But this cheers me up no end.

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

Hi all,

I'm chuffed to bits if mine is less than 10 in a morning, and drops to between 6 and 9 during the day....

Cheers,
Pete.

Usually between 5.5 and 6.9 ... can't quite figure what's going on as I was tempted by potatoes for the first time since Xmas last night and this morning it was 5.2....
Still testing and trying to find out my worst trigger foods.

It depends on how much fat and protein you ate at the same time. I find I can get away with a small chunk or two of potato as long as protein and fats slow down the absorption of the whole meal. It also depends if you exercised today and whether the rest of the day was low carb. It really is all trial and error!
