5.4 on going to bed
5.1 on waking (lowest fasting to date) :D

I did 10 tests yesterday, fasting, before lunch, +1hr, +2hrs, +2.5hrs, before tea, +1hr, +2hrs, +2.5hrs, bedtime. Average 5.9. Delighted.
I'm giving my fingers a rest today.

3.9 for me this morning. Very much in my range.

Yesterday I was also at the Podiatry Walk In clinic with my toe. The conclusion is, it's a bruise, and just to keep an eye on it, as it grown out. Where it came from isn't completely clear, but my speculation about the shoes is more than likely correct. MORE retail therapy I hear you say? Probably. In fact, next stop was our large out if town shopping park.

Strangely enough, I have gained almost a kilo, but I am even trimmer. Yesterday I mistakenly tried on size 6 dress, which was on a hanger with an 8 tag; which I thought might be pushing it a bit. I'd normally lift a 10. But, the size 6 came home with me! True, it's a shift shape, but I was amazed it went comfortably over my chesticles. Most bizarre. My posh scales suggest my body fat has reduced yet further (now at 17%) and muscle is up a bit (almost 38%), which would explain the weight number, and potentially the figure trimming. But, I had to laugh in the shop. I went to try a tailored jacket, having seen another woman don something I liked the shape of. It looked good, so that came home too. Anyway, from that point these two women, mother and daughter, kept finding me to tell me about things they had found, and indeed, they picked a couple of lovely jackets off the sale rail which are lovely. They were already rejected by the daughter, so I didn't feel even a smidge guilty. They were like my very own personal shoppers. Result!

Today I have the lawns to do and I really do have to finally sort out my new laptop and the Outlook issues I have been experiencing since I migrated the data. I feel something radical coming on, but I'll try to defer that until I fully understand the consequences of my probably planned actions.

Play nicely playmates. It's the weekend!!

6.0 this morning, sleep still a bit disturbed. Another week of holiday, which doesn't seem to have benefitted my BGs at all, then I have to go to Australia for 7-10 days for work (well somebody has to). I was due my next blood tests and 6 month DN update in a week or so, I'll have to postpone that now.

Oh no, that is bad timing. Can you squeeze your blood tests in before you go?

LOL 'Fraid not, as it is we have to cancel an overnight stop to see my aunt in Lancs on the way home, it's drive back to Devon on Friday and then straight to Heathrow on Saturday. At least it's business class so the additional disruption should be minimised. And don't forget I'd just come back from Africa the last time!

I remember! Hopefully when your next lot of tests are due your work commitments will be better timed! Remember too, we are in a race - first one to 40!

Wouldn't it be great if our health service was truly joined up? Especially as everything is so computer led nowadays. We could just arrange blood tests anywhere, hand in our NHS number and hey presto! Results on our records and accessible! If due date was logged onto our personal records and we presented a PIN via an NHS card ... If only ...

Mid-5s all this week, till this morning.... 6.1 Guess my late night snack of bacon wrapped cream cheese stuffed jalapeño poppers, 2 squares of 90% chocolate bumped me this morning. Mid-afternoon reading today is 5.2. :-)

Also, I stopped taking my metformin on Monday this week. The last 4 weeks were getting progressively more difficult for me. Extreme achey muscle pain, especially in the morning. Joints ached, back was in knots waking up in the mornings, and dull headaches. Googled a bit, and decided to stop taking my meds to see what happens.

First day, about 50% less muscle pain in the morning when waking up. That has progressed to about 90% less pain at night and in the morning today. Also been monitoring my sugars more actively since I stopped the medication. I read that it takes about a month for the metformin to leave your system. Fingers crossed that my number stay with in a nice range over the next 3 weeks.

It's so nice to not be in as much pain anymore. :-)

Please let us know how you get on without Metformin. I'm keen to reduce/stop mine too

4.6 before dinner
5.5 after 2 hours
5.2 in morning

Just wanted to ask does the doc reduce metmorfin with these levels or they just continur and its upto you to stop them or reduce them

8.2 this morning which is good for me another restless night

4.1 for me today, so bang in the middle of my personal zone.

Isn't it amazing how much better the garden looks when it has a bit of attention? Right now, it's looking good, if a bit dry. I'm undecided about sprinklers as we're surely about to cross over into autumnal mode soon. I have some lovely seed pods from the other place to get going, but I'll have to pick my timing for that. It's almost certainly too late now for anything outside, so a bit more thinking I reckon. Some of those West Indian plants and tubors are utterly spectacular, and once established should be easy enough to keep going in UK. And things like turmeric and ginger roots go bonkers, which is nice, but their blooms are fab too. And I have a baby decorative pineapple too. That's cherished, and comes from a plant in a friends' garden.

Now, I just have to decide where I'll be next spring!!

Today is domestics; so beds, floors and all those other grindingly boring things that simply have to be done, then I'll reward myself with a bit of time in my workshop. I have a couple of scaled down experimental pieces on the go, which I think are fine, but I didn't scale down the zipper sizes (the teeth size, not lengths, obviously!), so that's a bit unhelpful. But, hopefully by close of play today I'll have proven my concept, one way or another.

Play nicely boys and girls, but wrap up warm. It's pretty cool out there. :)

A surprisingly good result.
Over the pub last night, to say 'goodbye' to everyone I've made friends with over the time I've been renovating the house, (finishing now).
5.8 before bed, 5.1 this morning.
