I have just been given my latest hba1c score: a very nice non-diabetic 5,2% or 33,3 mmol. ( my last score was 6% or 42mmol)

All lipid counts improved as well!
-Triglycerides down from 1,5 to 0,99 mmol.
-Total cholesterol down from 3,9 to 3,7.
-LDL down from 2,3 to 2,2
-HDL up from 0,85 to 1,01

Feeling very very happy

Hi Pavlos,

Those are excellent results. You should feel very proud of all that you have achieved...I know I feel very proud of you also. I really love it when people post their results, its a real incentive to people like me and gives me that little push I need to do better.

Well done

Well done and well deserved x

Phew.....not just me that doesn't like seeing a 6 these days!! Kind of gets hold of you doesn't it?!

Well done!! Great results!

Pavlov,

What can I say, jealous, hate you lol, but really very pleased for you.

I hope when I get called for my next test I can go somewhere near what you have achieved.

Onward and downward that's they way.

Very, very well done, we all know it's not easy but there agin good things generally are not easy.

Once I'm in the low 5s I begin to feel it and it's not a good feeling. When I begin to overbalance I know I've gone lower. So even though I wasn't measuring I did make sure I had a little something when I didn't feel ok. This is my personal approach. I think there is no concrete rule of thumb. You are right ... We are all different.Different reactions to each other when it comes to the same quantity of food. Similarly, different people feel differently to each other with the same bg level.
If my body has been tricking me whilst not testing I'll soon know it at the end of the month. I just wanted a rest from testing and I didn't change my food, so I felt quite safe. During half term I did frequent the coffee shops and probably had 2 cappuccino s a day when it's usually 2 a week in total. I've drunk black coffee for 34 years but now cappucino is my treat and I have it instead of a pudding if I'm eating out.

Great results Pavlos !! Well done

Ps your the only other person I've ever seen on Diovan !

Love your work

Mike

Had a 5.9 this morning so pleased with that

Exercise in one hour and see what the reading is at 2 hours

I took one reading and it said 7.1 this morning, so I immediately took another....6.8. I must have had a liver dump. I had a huge work day yesterday, had to go into the country (2hr drive) for a long meeting and then a 2 hr drive back. This morning I am really, really tired, but I have to bounce back I have so much work to do. Eating a cheese omelette that will bring the bs down.

.... and 6.8 at 2 hours after 20 minutes leisurely exercise. Lowest at that point in time after breakfast in 2 weeks and nowhere near the 8s and 9s of recent days.

An unusually low 3,8 mmol for me this morning.

Wonder if this has anything to do with the two glasses of red wine I had last night. I do not drink often but last night was my 30 year reunion with my schoolmates, and a very enjoyable reunion it was too, so I made an exception.

I now wish I had checked what my level was last night before bed/after dinner.

I guess I will have to experiment with a glass of red wine at dinner time again and see if I get a similar result again.

Also may have been influenced by your good readings and you relaxed?

I couldn't believe I hit 4.1 last nite after some post dinner exercise.

Still can't seem to get over the pain in my sides during the day but I guess that's the LCHF changes. Shakiness is now only minimal (first thing in the morning and that's it) and no longer feel unsteady when walking. I think more exercise is in order.

Just tested again after taking a carb shot in the form of a small unripe banana about an hour ago just before my 5km fifty minute morning walk. My 3,8 on waking up has now risen to a more normal for me 5,3 so I guess I judged that just about right.

It was important to me psychologically to not miss my morning walk today.

Not only because I missed yesterday's walk, but also because I do not want any thoughts of easing up, of resting on my laurels after yesterday's good results of my latest blood test to enter my brain.

Complacency has always been my enemy, so I can not afford to take my eye off the ball.

Really pleased with those blood test results though
