7.2 this am just walked 2.3 miles will see if low before lunch

5.2 last night.

5.4 this morning

5.0 two hrs after breakfast.

5.3 pre lunch.

Mine is going the wrong way round. Higher before food than it is post food. But still pleased with the readings.

Once I'm in the low 5s I begin to feel it and it's not a good feeling. When I begin to overbalance I know I've gone lower. So even though I wasn't measuring I did make sure I had a little something when I didn't feel ok. This is my personal approach. I think there is no concrete rule of thumb. You are right ... We are all different.Different reactions to each other when it comes to the same quantity of food. Similarly, different people feel differently to each other with the same bg level.
If my body has been tricking me whilst not testing I'll soon know it at the end of the month. I just wanted a rest from testing and I didn't change my food, so I felt quite safe. During half term I did frequent the coffee shops and probably had 2 cappuccino s a day when it's usually 2 a week in total. I've drunk black coffee for 34 years but now cappucino is my treat and I have it instead of a pudding if I'm eating out.

As you say, we're all different, and we each have to work out the routines and protocols which help us maintain decent blood scores, and live happy, confident lives. If you feel rough, you have to take action; just as I would.

It’s back to my go-to 4.1 for me, it seems, now I am settled into a routine where I am rising later. I’m happy with that to be honest.

Since Mr B has been back in UK, my diet has still been good, although I have probably eaten more potatoes in the last 2 weeks than in the preceding 12 months! My portion size is modest, and there is no impact on my bloods, so I have to be happy with that, bearing in mind the colder weather doesn’t lend itself to quite so many salads.

Have a great day, folks.

5.3 ,I have now had 5s for about a week, but not feeling great in a morning, very dry mouth sore lips and a bad head,I can only think its lower BS numbers,I felt fine a 6s and7s.

Mine was 8.1 before lunch and 2 hours later 7.8 haven't felt right all day feel sick,am shivering and have had a headache since last night is this all connected that's twice my bg have gone down after a meal.

5.7 before breakfast, 5.2 @+2hrs , getting sick of feeling washed out and shaky in the afternoon BG is currently 6.2 (lunch +2 )so it's not that.

Have a safe journey @kimbo1962 . Don't buy any food on the train!
Mission guitar collection complete!! I didn't deviate from my regime, no "train food " or even "coffee and cake" as recommended at a certain coffee shop......I took a small packet of scratchings and then purchased some cheddar cheese slices at a new Morrison's local at the station for late lunch at 2pm on the train home!
I was 5.3 pre lunch, 5.3 2 hrs later and 4.9 pre dinner tonight

I might be wrong, but 9.7 I would think, it will be interesting to know what they are after your tea, and what your meal was. Do you feel ok generally?

I have no idea about the readings, as very new to this, and so confused, didnt know how often i was to monitor my levels, I was told i didnt have diabetes, but borderline......and yet my readings are high ive been told, only done the 2 so far.

Did no one suggest taking a reading before your meal, and 2 hours after ? As a diabetic I wouldn't want to see a rise more than 2mmols , or that's why I aim for :-)

The key to reduce your blood sugars is to reduce both your carb intake and obviously sugars. There are loads of topics on this forum for help and advice

I use an app called myfitnesspal for tracking nutrition carbs, calories etc, and Diabetik for blood glucose monitoring, but there are others, No apps were harmed in the making of this commercial:-)

Let us know your post tea readings

Take care

I am doing lots of reading on stuff I buy, low carbs, low fat and low sugar. Ive just been left to get on with it, was told to see doc againi 3 months time. I will do a reading in about half hour, post dinner if it helps. Am keeping a daily diet list of what im eating and drinking.

Sounds oh so familiar, but don't despair, you're in the right place now. I also spent 3 months after diagnosis not testing and ignorant to what carbs actually do. Finding this forum has helped me in ways the GP or DN couldn't. ( no disrespect intended Jaquie ) :-)

After dinner reading....6.5 thats good isnt it?
Thank you very much for chatting with me, ive still lots to learn and read. Keep tabs on me, dont let me go quiet and get depressed ok. Xx

After 9.7 before your meal, definitely, have a look back and check to see if you ate something that would have spiked you to 9.7. It's all trial and error I'm afraid, and what is good for one person may not be the same for you. Hence only you can control your condition.

Great result though
