Don't worry, Lucy, it's probably the old Dawn Phenomenon hanging around. It took a while for mine to go down. If your daytime readings are okay, try not to worry too much and wait for your next HbA1c. You're nearly within NICE guidelines (4 - 7 fasting/before meals, less than 8.5 two hours after) so just keep at it! Well done on the weight loss!

4th full day on basal/bolus now.

FBS of 5.8.

Seems I did manage to adjust that basal stuff just about enough then. Will see in a few days if it needs a nudge more.

Don't be confused be happy with that one Lucy. Is that your best if so well done you! If not still well done!

One thing are you measuring as close to getting up as possible? I find it makes loads of difference if there's a big gap between getting up and testing. Also started noticing if I'm too lazy and spend to much time hanging around in bed after the alarm goes off that will cause a rise too. Not small either if I wake up at say 7.00 but measure at 9.00 I might well be at least 2 higher.

Hello All,

I have not tested for months now 1st thing in the morning..

But this morning I was 5.6 at 8.20am..

I am normally under 5.5mmol, so not much difference, but I am happy, as after meals its good.

6.4 this morning, but...... I did have some "normal" bread toasted. I'm bad I know.

4.8 after a run of mid-5's. I hope I've got my evening exercise balanced now.
