Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

4.5 this morning (5.5 post-dinner). Two months since I started on the regime. Weight loss of 1kg over the last month which is a tad frustrating. Average fasting has been 4.65 over the 2nd month. Taking into account the Contour machine that puts the true average probably around the 4.65 - 5.1 mark. 2 readings over 5.5.

Batch 44 has me at 5.7 this morning and was 5.7 at bed, ok but higher end of my range- could before like 5.2 though as only had 10gm carbs yesterday as had no coleslaw, didn't fancy it for once! Need to order my strips today, never got round to it yesterday as turned out to be a busy day all round
Waiting for 11am onwards to ring for my results.....
Feeling very frustrated.....nurse said definitely back today, results receptionist saying "Oh no, not today, two days at least...." (held back from telling her all my others, including the fateful diagnosis one) were all within 24 hrs! My dn did say to tell them she said they would be in, but she wouldn't listen! So still waiting now until tomorrow morning....

I bet they are in, but the nurse hasn't seen them yet so receptionist won't tell you. Try again after lunch.

5.8 this morning but slept in late again, snotty head and cough and had slice of oat bran and linseed bread and butter around 2am when Moo wanted out.

Jan, why did you feel the need for bread and butter at 2am? I've never snacked, so I find snacking at almost any time pretty alien, but I can't think I've ever, ever eaten in the middle of the night, unless I was up preparing to travel or the like.

Do you have any aspirations to drop any weight, or are you where you want to be on that front?

I'm not criticising, just somewhat bemused.

5.3 this morning
5.3 Tuesday morning, woke up at 11 am.
4.8 Monday morning.
Winning the infection, sore throat, flu battle, still a way to go though. :-)

I think so too bluetit....Never had it last time, can't ring this afternoon as surgery closes for staff training until 4.30pm, results only given out between 10am-midday and 2-4pm!! Just have to wait.....I'm taking the frustration out on my exercise bike in the meantime!!

Hark! Is that the eager sound of foot stamping and hand clapping I hear....?:)
I'm still in Kent and will be driving back to Devon this evening, but I'll see what I can do later

Call me a manipulative old thing if you will, but I might be thinking of a reason to call to talk to the DN. Did you maybe forget something she might have said to you yesterday?:angelic:

Waiting is rubbish !!! And these aren't even for my own results!! Did you no know stress ill affect my numbers? ;)

4.4 for me this morning. I'd wager that's a batch 44 special, based on what I ate yesterday, and that I recorded a lowest ever weight this morning.:mad::mad::mad: I thought the drop the other day was directly related to having had the tummy viral thing, but it has settles under 48kg. Bother, bother, bother!

Today it's extremely blustery here today, and is adding to our current wi-fi woes. General speed and stability has been quite poor since we got back this time. I'm sure it's mainly an infrastructure and contention issue, as there are more tourists around, and the island infrastructure wasn't built for what's required of it these days. Even with our sophisticated gizmos and widgets, it's still painfully slow and streaming TV from home is nigh on impossible, in the evenings. So, good old iPlayer is taking a beating, but as the required VPN takes another margin off the speed, it's quite painful.

Never mind. It could be less than 28c in the wind, and the rain could even be cold!

I am amazed you guy keep dropping and I keep going up. Threw the weighing machine last time got so annoyed.

Waiting for the new one to turn up now.:mad::(:(

Oh dear! Brettsza, do you keep an eye on your calories? If the weight is going on you must surely be eating too many.

Same here @kimbo1962 but its my own business, so I choose to work weekends, plus its the nature of my work. Fridays are always busy too so I try and give myself 2 days off midweek and rather enjoy them, knowing others are working and I'm not!

Enjoy your day off tomorrow :)
It is kind of my choice as in I said I would do it- it's at the homeless lodge where I've started as a case support worker on a bank/relief basis while the holiday centre where I work on reception is closed....though it re-opens next Sunday as it's 1st March! ! Wanted to add the case worker to my c.v. and try it and see? I always look at the bigger picture and think what doors could open:(:(;)
