Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

You hang on in there, too! Spring is round the corner.

what also doesn't help is, I've been at a friends son's wedding on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I tried to be careful as much as I possibly could with food choices but the desserts just seemed to jump out right in front of me!! :shy: Desserts which I use to enjoy before T2.

So, I'm going to try make low carb choc mug cake but without the egg and try making it in the oven because I don't like microwaved food. Hopefully this should satisfy any dessert cravings!!!

Before dinner 5.9
Only salad for dinner and reading after 2 hours was 6.1
Fasting 7.1 ?????????????????????????
Did it again 6.9
Did it again 6.8
Washed hands
Did it again 6.8
Frustrated
Took the toothpaste in hand and mixed water to it and tested that
Got a reading Lo
Took a shower and punctured another finger
Came at 6.2
Did it again 6.3
Punctured a third finger
Came at 6.2
Did it again 6.1
So that's that way you lower your blood sugars if you are on batch 44 and also this is how you finish that ****** batch
Unfortunately the side effect of all this is sore fingers, well 3 of them are :(

@kimbo1962 your post makes me feel so much better.
Hi, I've still got 2 pots of Batch 44 to go :arghh: that's 100 pricks of no confidence, not sure I want to use them after seeing this, does anybody want then? good price!

4.8 this morning on my Accu Chek Mobile, I have been in the late 5s for weeks on the SD codefree. My new strips turn up tomorrow.

My lowest ever this morning - 4.5 :) I've got my first HbA1C since I was diagnosed this morning and I'm expecting a far better one than the 107 that led to my diagnosis 3 months ago
Fantastic... :)

Sounds like its time to see the doctors. Diabetes can make you more likely to pick up bugs. Maybe also ask for an ENT (ear nose and throat ) referral if your getting a lot of sinusitus
I think you're right Lou... I hate trying to get an appointment, but I can't fight it any more... It is such a gross thing to have too.. :)

No, have had it low as 3.4 in the past few days. Lower the better works for me. Touch wood I never get to know what hypo is.
How interesting... it's true, isn't it? We all function differently, even though, generally speaking, the same rules apply to us all.... But you are doing a lot of exercise.. does that mean you have to eat some carbs for fuel? How do you pack in enough stuff to burn?

No, not me. I wish it was me! Someone messaged in. Just wondered if it was someone from here.
Cool... we need to get the word out there... :)

5.6 this morning on new batch 61, which is what one of my last few if 44 had me at bedtime so that's about right- i then decided to use up another 44 as a random, same finger, same puncture site.....and it gave 6.4!! Just goes to show how erratic 44 has been!
Btw......wasn't me either! Love my radio but can never quite get into chris- i was a tog in the day and miss him still!!
TOG's... :singing::bigtears:

7.7 for me this morning... think I'm on a self-destructive path at the moment as I cant seem to stop eating. I am eating all the right things, just in the wrong quantities...hopefully I'll snap out of this dark cloud soon grrrr
Don't beat yourself up dear heart... we all slip, or have patches where we need more - be it for comfort, or to feed a cold, or whatever... You'll sort it out when you can... BT says, 'Make a note, move on. Tomorrow's another day'... thank goodness there's always 'another day' just round the corner... don't know if you like, or need, hugs, but kind thoughts are coming your way...

Kezzer, you're not alone.. I'm the same, just can't stop eating. Bluetit's right, I think this bitter cold weather doesn't help, just makes me want to eat hot comfort foods. It must be bad.. Lol.. because I can't even face drinking my beloved green smoothies for the last few days
Nor me... :(

It is so frustrating.... :banghead: I did similar yesterday... I think I wasn't eating enough... you too maybe? Not so many fingers as you though... :) It'll come right.... Patience... :)

Zip the lips, until you have your new prescription in your little hand?

My reputation precedes me? ;)

It was interesting. GP says I seem to know more about my condition than he does, yet he thinks my fasting levels are fine and I am being too hard on myself with my post prandial readings and it is quite safe to go up to 11 after meals. Eeek!

I requested a c-peptide test as I'm not convinced I'm actually T2, but he says they are only available privately. He also said he can tell from my HbA1c that I have good liver function and am producing enough insulin naturally. I wasn't expecting to be sent to the hospital for an HbA1c test as a trade-off but went along, clutching my prescription for Forxiga, (which my GP asked me to spell for him!) I won't start taking it until Thursday as I'm flying tomorrow (as on a plane, not high as a kite!) :p

He confirmed I would have annual liver ultrasounds from now on which would also check my gall stones, so all in all a pretty positive morning.

Is that right about the c-peptide tests? Up to 11 after meals?????? That doesn't sound too safe to me, certainly on a regular basis.

Well done on the Forxiga and unexpected HbA1c test though. Excellent news.

No it doesn't sound safe to me either but I think he was defending the dieticians advice. He asked if I was following her recommendations by reintroducing carbs. I bluffed and said yes, but the Ryvitas she suggested had shot my bs up to 12! Thats when he said it was quite safe to reach 11 after meals.

I'll wait and see the results of this HbA1c before exploring the c-peptide test further.
