4.8 at 08:00 today.
The slight rise over the last couple of days is due to drinking wine the previous two nights. I'm convinced that it causes a very slight rise in my fasting levels. It may not be the wine itself, it may be that I scour the kitchen for nibbles
- pumpkin seed Ryvita this time! which leads to increased carb intake.
I din't drink last night - kidney function test this morning - and look, a tiny bit down again! I felt no need to snack before bed last night.
Okay, that's not scientific, but it's how it seems to work for me!

I don't do my FBG any more but may have a go one morning and see what it's up too.

Woke up this morning at 4.50am due to a very bad cramp - so i said let me test.... it was 9.3 (yay)
but being so early managed to fall asleep again...woke up and tested again .......12.7 (boo)
that is 3.4 points it went up.....or 36%
last night i slept at 7.8
i am going to have to sleep in the 4's probably in order to achieve a FG of about 8 (which still would be high)

well i am due to go for blood tests in August.....my aim is to get my HBA1c lower from the 12.9mmol that was last time.
i will be nowhere a normal HBA1c but i am hoping to get it in the 8's.
i am also going to bit the bullet and ask to be referred again to a hospital (even though i am scared of them putting me on insulin) but obviously the byetta must not be working any more.

My fasting glucose was 37 last time. I think this is 5 point something in old money. I'm on metformin but have been told that I no longer need it after losing 9 stone in a year. I continue to take it though as it helps my PCOS...another disorder that could have caused my diabetes! :?
