Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

7.2 this morning, higher than yesterday but I had a bread roll and a few squares of chocolate last evening. Been on 1000mg for 4 weeks now but doctor doubled it yesterday so am hoping it will improve things.

6.8 fasting and 8.0 a 2 hours after breakfast.

my morning fasting blood glucose is 21.0 it been high as 32.9

13.8 today. Better than yesterday but still feel rough. Do people have different tolerance levels for high levels? I feel ill as soon as I go into double figures,

Your levels are going in the right direction Pepper - downwards

When my levels hit 10.7 last week due to awful stresses I felt absolutely dreadful. I was physically shaking and my nice sister and aunt were worried that I was going to have another stroke.

This morning my levels are 5.1 - back to normal thank goodness.

8.0 at 6.19am this morning, but i had 1 square of 75% chocolate and a the food doctor round pitta with tziziki fairly late last night.

just now, 8.15am it was 6.6.

that 8.0 is my highest since i've been testing but i haven't been testing lately, my last entry in my food/numbers diary was 28-08-12.

Mine was 7.2 this morning, the highest it's been for a while - last week the doc doubled my dose of Metformin to 2000 a day so yesterday I felt very nauseous all day and couldn't eat until around 4pm when I forced myself to have a small dollop of mash potato, cabbage and a piece of steak. And I only ate because I knew I couldn't take Metformin on an empty stomach and I only took 1 tablet not the recommended 2 and today I don't feel sick. Later on in the evening I ate 4 squares of milk chocolate which is probably why my BG is higher today.

I find that potato rises my levels,hopefully you will adjust the change in dosage of metformin

7.8 this morning just can't seem to get the fasting one down whatever snack I have before I go to bed

Yaaaaayyy! Down to 6.4 this morning No chocolate yesterday, looks like I'll have to knock that on the head from now on. To be honest I'm not that fond of chocolate and don't know why I eat it.

I drank about 3 glasses of diet Soda Water with Cranberry Flavouring tho - no cals, no protein, no nothing. Don't normally like diet stuff but felt like something sweet and fizzy.

Had to force my breakfast down before 7.30am today as I'm going into hospital for a biopsy today :think: and having a general anaesthetic so I can't have anything to eat until this afternoon when that's over and done with by around 4pm.

6.4 at 8AM. I didn't have any metformin yesterday so I could have a decent drink, red wine, as it plays havoc with the sewage department. So I was a bit surprised the level was quite low ( for me ).

Hope the biopsy goes well GraceK.

Mine was 6.7 this am which I'm chuffed with again, especially as yesterday afternoon at the hospital it was up to the double figures again after surgery and a chicken sandwich with a packet of crisps.

Thanks for your good wishes Superchip - It was a gynae biopsy and I'll have the results in two weeks. I'm fine down at the nether regions but for some reason every single rib in my entire ribcage is aching like I've been trampled on by a herd of elephants and my throat feels like sandpaper. I had the same procedure last year and didn't have an ache or a pain afterwards so dunno what's so different this time but am hoping it will wear off soon.
