Got it wrong by 1!!!! Just rung the surgery and been told the HbA1c result is 39. Cholesterol is at 3.1. Surprisingly the GP doesn't feel the need to see me to review my medication.
That's a fab result! Well done - be proud!

Yes, @WeeFergus just hang in there, and it will surely begin. From what I've read here, the overnight fasting are generally later than others to get into the desired range. My BGLs are only just beginning to meet targets now.
Good luck with your HbA1c - mine is also in April.

Thanks, Merrylizard. I just get mad that fasting for say 7 hours whilst in the land of nod can raise my BG the way it does. I must experiment and fast for 7 hours through the day and see if my liver feels it needs to help me out in the same way.

It may surprise you.................

@loulou99782 these are the sugarfree digestive. I think someone said Morrison's sell them. Don't know how much as I bought a cheap batch, now sold out.

Hello,

Life got busy the last few weeks. Taken on more responsibility at work, the wife started a new job, and as a result I've had to step my family duties. Popped in now and then to read messages to keep up with things, then usually fall asleep in bed with the iPad before typing out a reply.

5.8 this morning..... :-)

Thanks, Baruney. I've been really good at eating to my meter and now have mainly 5's or low 6's during the day but no matter what I go to bed with, it is always higher first thing in the morning. Of course, I realise that 6's will more than likely please my DN but the higher readings will be adding to my averages and I don't seem to have any control over them (other than having my liver removed!). Maybe I'm making too much of a fuss but my averages over the last 14 days show that my fasting readings are .5 higher than my bedtime readings.
Hola

You prompted me to have a look through my charts to when I was fist diagnosed in August 2014. In general my fasting numbers would be lower than my bedtime numbers. Maybe a combo of a glass or red and a night time walk with poochy? Have you read up on this dawn phenomenon?

before bed 78 mg/dl and 5.6 mmoles Ketones as beta hydroxy butyrate.

This morning 72 mg/dl or 4.0 mmoles, so that I am not without feeling somewhat chuffed.

What? Maybe you need to ask for a phone call from your doctor and ask him why he thinks you should be taking so much medication? Bizarre... But many congratulations for your wonderful numbers.. :) Your hard work paid off...

5.7 this morning bedtime had been 5.9 so a little reduction for once
Cool... Amazing what a little number can do for your day... :)

Thanks but trying to not see it in that way. It's only been 3 months and though it's fantastic result, in a short period of time, I am still 4kg off my ideal weight and 9 kg off where I want to be.

My biggest challenge to is to maintain or improve on this result for the rest of the year and not let it slip.

Might sound cheesy but really do mean it when I say I couldn't have done it without this forum for all the help and support it offers.
That's just how so many of us feel m'dear... :)
