That's more like you.......
this morning 4.2
Yeah I was drifting a little the last week ....That's more like you.......
Be fine in the pub I will be in!Hi Welshgooner its wet and miserable down Cardiff way ..what's new eh lol
Hollow it out?I'm craving a Clarks pie already! gonna be a major willpower test
Well, I went right off the rails last night, glass of red wine (for the antioxidants), maybe a few G&Ts (I need quinine to keep malaria at bay) then the inevitable happened and some pringles attacked me and made me eat them. Went to bed very annoyed with myself. This morning my BG was 6.8, lower than yesterday's 7.3.
Unfortunately I think the inside maybe allowable....however the pastry is to die for....but given this condition I don't think I'm prepared to pay THAT priceHollow it out?
I tested Lager effects on the weekend and didn't have a great effect on my BS!That is possibly the effect of the alcohol. Alcohol (spirits and dry wine) can lower blood sugar levels until it is cleared out of the system. They do not tend to raise BS levels as they contain no or few carbs. The tonic may be different (try a sugar free one), and beer will raise levels as there is a lot of sugar in it.

I was VERY pleasantly surprised - I will try another testing this weekend to corroborate results
I tested on the hour - every hour and whilst the levels did rise to 8.2 from a 5.6 start point it wasn't as bad as I was really expecting!Do check an hour after your first sip. It reacts quickly. Then again at 90 minutes and 120 minutes. The theory is it raises your levels, sometimes dramatically, then drops them suddenly. Insulin users can get hypos. I have seen it happen.
Stella looks a good choice! An analysis of sugar levels in cider, sherry and spirits found that some drinks contained as many as five teaspoons of sugar in a single serving. By contrast wines and beer contained significantly smaller quantities.
