Thanks for the good wishes, Didie. I seem able to just put it out of my mind and not worry until the results come through, which is very useful.

Your fasting results have been great over the holiday period - have you been good all the time, or have you let yourself have the occasional treat? I was 6.1 this morning, which isn't too bad - in fact very good when compared to this time last year. I've nearly eaten and drunk all the things I shouldn't be having, so it's back to the straight and narrow from tomorrow. What a relief!

just started testing the last couple of weeks and mine have been low readings nearly always in the 4s

Normally my morning reading is around 7.5.
Last night I finnished work late (8pm)and as I was coming home to an empty house I had a takeaway curry with a handfull size portion of rice and half a dinner plate sized naan bread.
I got up this morning feeling fine, but curious as to how I would have reacted to a relatively poor meal (for a diabetic.......it definately wasnt a poor quality meal :thumbup: ) eaten late at night
My reading was 5.9 :crazy:

I just dont get this diabetes thing!......

4.3 fasting which is an all-time low.

Great result, Didie! I've not been testing for a couple of days, but this morning's was 6.4.

I've not been testing in the morning either. Thought I would do it 2 hrs after main meal for a wee while just to see.

I was amazed and retested with a strip from another container, but that was the same.

I like to test first thing in the morning and after 2-hours post-breakfast. I feel if the levels then are ok, then I'm set for the day.

4.8 this morming.

I'm heading down to Yorkshire later this week and it'll be interesting to see what my levels are when I'm away.

8.3 Even though my levemir has been increased .... was 6.2 before bed

13.7 this morning... I've only had a monitor for the past few days and my readings have been similar to that each morning!

Tomorrow I start on Victoza so I'm hoping I can finally get this damned condition under control! :problem:

4.8 this morning, despite oversleeping horribly after a 5-hour visit to Edinburgh Zoo yesterday during which we saw the pandas.

5.6 this morning. I've done a couple of full days testing this week, and I'm consistently back in the 5s and high 4s.

It seems that when I'm regularly drinking wine, like over Christmas, my BG goes up into the 6s. This could be partly to do with eating more (alcohol weakens the self-control - at least with me! :shock: ), and partly to do with the fact that I have too much wine :oops: . I'm off it again now.

The best day this week was when I was forced to eat a pork pie (honest! they held me down!)

Actually no, I ended up working in the National Park office without any lunch, and the only shop, the butcher, only had a large-ish pork pie (a 2-person one). So I ate half, and then half the next day. I tested around the 2nd half - 5.4 pre pork pie, 6.9 1 hour after, 6.2 2 hours after (4pm). Quite pleased with that. At 8pm I was 4.5, had a chicken salad, 4.6 2 hours after that.

Things are getting better! :D

I'm going on the Newcastle diet next week (prob from Wednesday) so it will be interesting to see what happens.
