Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

4.8 this morning , amazed since we have a house full and last night had 1/2 chippy battered fish and 6 chips.

Would appear the Vodka is doing its bit.

Don't worry folks didn't fall of the wagon but sometimes a little of what you fancy does you good.

Have a great day everyone

I have a chippy battered fish once a week with mushy peas, no chips but a slice of bread and butter. It raises me about 1.5mmol/l. Without the peas and bread it would be a lot less. I also have 6 homemade chips with other meals and they don't raise me at all!

@kimbo1962 hope your daughter is feeling better soon and GP helps.

Mine was 5.7 after long lie in. I suspect my liver was working like Billy-o all night as I went down to 4 after my dinner and felt shocking all evening. I know that it isn't as low as is normally quoted for a hypo but I feel pretty poor under 4.5 and am noticing that these lower readings trigger my panic attacks as the body releases adrenaline to activate a rise in glucose release.

Hi @Bluetit1802 is it the weather may be or a bug
I have been extremely stressed out at work lately and really feeling depressed after the clock change but my levels have held on for now.

6.2 here, yo-yo, see-saw call it what you will.

Hope your daughter gets well soon Kim, soon she'll be moaning 'why does this have to happen in half term, why not during school time'?

@kimbo1962 I am thinking of you both. Hope all goes well. x
@alliebee and @Rosie1953 Well done to you both. Delighted for you.
@Marko723 Fabulous photos. Bird photography is one of my hobbies.

DISASTER this morning.

Readings yesterday all between 4.7 and 6.3
5.5 at bedtime
6.2 this morning What the *&)%$ not been that high in ages and absolutely no reason for it.:banghead:
Hello don't get upset. Many times the stress level of individual elevate sugar level. The bottom line is even though we control diet etc. the main thing is stress level. It should be always low & see the effect on BG in the next day.

That's so true. Stress and anxiety raise cortosol and adrenaline which raises insulin response ( fight or flight). No nice at all

Yes it is very true from what I've learnt on the forum. However, in my case I was not stressed or anxious. No underlying worries at all. Had a good night's sleep. No symptoms of illness. I am taking it as a blip of unknown origin. We shall see what tomorrow brings! It's all a lottery as has been said many times.

In the same boat, high fasting results just lately. Perhaps something seasonal the body is preparing for? Winter is around the corner.

Thanks for the positive comment on the pictures. I had hoped to do a lot more bird photography this year. Went out and bought new feeders..etc. the problem was that spring never showed up until late May. I think that most of the migratory birds ended up much further south this year.

It was really slim pickings for any type of bird shot. Here's hoping to better opertunities next summer. By then I might have a new camera. I've been saving the last few months and I'm a little under a third of the way to affording it.

@Bluetit1802 you weren't thinking about a nutty 9bar last night were you... :) I know they spike me lol Or perhaps its just one of those days, and maybe you didn't sleep quite as well as you thought...I'll keep my fingers crossed your back to normal tomorrow.

But be careful not to stress over thinking you're not stressed ...
