Well done @daddys1 , excellent weight loss, you must be so pleased. This has started to be good day for me......
5.0 Bedtime 1 point lower than usual
4.8 Fasting Pre breakfastagain lower than usual
Hit a magical 14st 4lbs today that's an even 200lbs. When diagnosed 22 Sept 14. I was 15st 8lbs (lost a stone the previous year with Pre Diabetes) probably will hover around this for a while but very pleased, about 2lbs per week so far. LC moderate Fat, a lot more than I ever used to have.
Thanks for the inspiration on here.............
Well done @Bluetit1802 those are excellent results and well deserved.PARTY TIME!!!
Just rung the surgery for my blood results.
Lipids all improved, again!
A1c coming down
HbA1c 43 (6.1%) down from 45 (6.3%) in September
Total cholesterol 5.5 (Sept was 5.3)
HDL 2.2 (Sept was 1.8)
LDL 3.0 (Sept was 3.2)
Trigs 0.58 (Sept was 0.6)
TC/HDL ratio 2.5 (Sept was 2.94)
Trigs/HDL ratio 0.19 (Sept was 0.33)
I am delighted, especially the lipids considering the amount of cheese have been eating to stop losing weight.
THANK YOU all for your friendship and support. I couldn't have done it without you.![]()
Daddys1,
Congrats on weight loss and indeed BG levels.
We are of a similar age on a similar journey, my weight on diagnosis 15st,weight as of this morning 11st 13lbs.
Thought I would mention that certainly for me initial weight loss was roughly 2 lbs per week for the 1st 5 months on a 1200 cal LCHF way of eating. In early November weight loss stopped still same cals & LCHF but actually put on a few pounds.
Persevered and now it's going down again but at a slower rate of 1lb per week.
I think thinks it's just my bodies reaction to what it saw as starvation, I certainly have hardly once felt hungry on LCHF.
Perhaps you will continue @ 2lbs per week but thought I would let you know that it might slow.
Once again congrats and keep to it.
All the very best.
I did get some sleep, thanks, around five hrs split into a 2,2,&1hr spell. Not the best but better than none. Hope the rehydration drink did the trick. Not the best way to get a good fasting readingThanks jan, I resisted the toast, had one of tHose rehydration drinks in stead and watched some mindless tv. I ended up going to bed around 2.30pm and woke up at 6pm with a fasting bs of 5.6 wow lol. Lowest its been in months. I hope you managed to get some rest too.
Well done

@Rose28 - should I peel the ginger root before I chop or grate it?
Lovely, thank youYes, it's easy to peel with a spoon rather than a veg peeler or knife, this way you're only just taking off a thin layer of peel and retaining all the goodness of juices and root
But don't whatever you do rub your eyes until you have washed your hands. Just like chillies. OuchYes, it's easy to peel with a spoon rather than a veg peeler or knife, this way you're only just taking off a thin layer of peel and retaining all the goodness of juices and root

I don't normally test separately for fasting and pre brekkie. I figure that as it is one figure pretty much beyond my control I'll settle for good pre & post prandial readings. Doubt post lunch will be too good tho, too many carbsForgot to test again this morning.
Remembered to test just before brekkie, which was bacon, toms and a little slice of LivLife toasted and buttered
and it was 5.8![]()
I was right 5.4 up to 8.0 - thought of a stint on x-trainer but that's as far as it went ;-).I don't normally test separately for fasting and pre brekkie. 5.4 again another hour on.I was right 5.4 up to 8.0 - thought of a stint on x-trainer but that's as far as it went ;-).
Mmmmmmm I could eat that now too.My go-to 4.1 for me again. I thought it might have been up a smidge this morning as I had a ginagerous pork chop last night, with saute potato, and some veg, of course. For anyone who can tolerate a bit of saute potato, I recommend trying this Raymond Blanc creation. I started off all virusous, thinking I wouild only have a few pieces of potato, but they were too nice! My OH makes the pieces a it smaller and blanches them a little longer, so that they become really crisp.
Actually, I could eat that again tonight, given the option..........![]()
