Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

Well done on your MOT @dianagrace , shame about the GP. He hadnt heard of Forxiga, yet made presumptions over what it was for? At the very least he should have said he wasn't an expert on it and would check it out. But as you say, if he's now off to ask his dietician ... :banghead:

Just reading the info page on this site and it isn't actually licensed in England as a sole treatment , supposedly to be taken with Metformin in those who can't tolerate the likes of Glicazide. Though I know @kimbo1962 is only on it. It does apparently aid weight loss as excess glucose excreted so those calories lost. Why do you particularly want to take it?

Thanks for that.

I'm on my first pack from that batch and, thus far, I haven't had too man oddities, so here's hoping!

I've been using that batch and occasionally I got a strange outlier but it's certainly better than the batch ending in 56... I only ever order 5 at a time in case I get a nasty batch.

A 3.7 for me this morning.

Today I am doing my best impression of Mary Berry, with the good old Kenwood going non-stop. Having said Mr B hadn't asked me to bake in an age, he crumbled last night, at the thought of me making one of my famed Lemon Drizzle Cakes for another (even if that other is his own brother). :) So, we're rocking and rolling in citrus today. I'm pleased he has asked for a cake again, because I know he enjoys home baking, and I hate to think of him missing out on anything because my lifestyle has changed somewhat.

I will be up nice and early tomorrow morning to get batch baking my also somewhat renouned Scones. There will be some plain (slightly sweet), some Cheese and some Cheese and Chilli Flakes. They'll all be heading south, and hopefully some of them will even reach the freezer!!

I'm also going to be doing some experimentation with chutneys whilst Mr B is away, so that anything truly hopping can be binned without reference to the look on his face. My Cheese Scones with Red Onion Chutney are a PlanetBreathe favourite. I may or may no succumb, in due course.

Have a good day playmates. It's cold out there!!

Yes, my daughter does her Lemon Drizzle Cake.
I eat it

Not much sunshine today in Cyprus

Rain and hail in buckets.

Luckily I had time to complete my morning walk first.

Pavlos
Missed this when I mentioned your walk in a post I made earlier today - following your very wet pictures of car boats... the rain has made its way to the UK - a very sodden Preston in Lancashire - but we're on high ground where I live - would take a Noah event to flood us

5.5 my normal pre breakfast range, did my pay bar test last night rather pleased, for the last 6 months have had a pay bar 3 times in the evening as a snack , 1st time reading 2 hours after was 9.8 , 2 months later 8.7' last night 7.8.

Hopefully this might show things are going in the right direction.

Oh and I guess I should note that last nights reading 2hrs before was 7.2 which was 2 hours after a simple dinner which consisted of 2 yes I did say 2 slices of Bergen bread sandwich with cheese and a nice big slice of raw onion.

I am currently trying to increase carbs in preparation for the festive season, we shall see how it goes.

Wet dark morning here in Manchester but really don't care my team are now 3rd in the league.

Have a great day everyone.
Go Utd :joyful: - my partner's team of preference. Mine is Preston North End - we are in earshot of the stadium :playful: but I digress from the question your post posed - What's a "pay bar"?

Not far from me then. I'm in Clitheroe.

Down from 5 to 4,6 between waking up and an hour later when setting out for walk. Will have some fruit to prevent further drop

That's interesting, thank you @cold ethyl . I did tell GP I'd heard it worked well with Metformin but he said he doesn't want my bs to go any lower and doesn't want to prescribe any drug for weight loss only. I said my weight had plateaued and I wanted to lose a few more lbs before my son's wedding in January, so he offered me a gym referral!! I politely declined as I already belong to one and am working with a personal trainer again.

I think the plateauing is getting to me as I'm not seeing anything for my efforts - weight-wise. Energy levels are still increasing and I'm like a wound up spring but the scales are still stuck.

Good luck with the Newcastle in the the New Year. I don't think its for me - I'm definitely a LCHF convert ;)

Yes, well done @dianagrace. I read on another thread somewhere that a GP had never heard of Forxiga.

Thank you both. To be fair, Rod, he asked me what Forxiga did and I said I'd heard it worked very well with Metformin in lowering bs and aiding weight loss. He says I'm already below the NHS target for bs and doesn't want me to go any lower. His opinion is that low bs can be as dangerous as high bs (talk to the hand!)

Yup :banghead:
