Well work this one out..after indulging for 3 days. My fasting was 7.1. My lowest fasting ever????.... maybe my insulin resistance has gone after losing 2 and a half stone. Obviously no liver dump despite 2 large baileys at bedtime with cheese and crackers....there is no ryme or reason here...

Looking good :)

As to rhyme or reason, I've never found any.

My only speculation might be that having indulged a bit, post a period of really rather low-carbing, the consistently increased carbs for a few days has encouraged your body to restart/increase some of the enzyme production that hasn't been required for a while (due to your low-carb lifestyle)?

As I say; speculation on my part. Have you been following your normal testing regime? This might give a few clues......

4.7 this morning. Much better.

I'm not sure why the drop as I still have a cold. I did sleep better, maybe that's it.

What a nightmare for you Kim. I hope your daughter is feeling a bit better this morning. Is this the same thing that happened a few weeks ago? Sending hugs.
The same but escalated bluetit! Never really got anywhere yet as to cause yet and the last week has been awful. Really wanting some more positive action tomorrow now! I'm not going to just be brushed off you can be sure!

GOOOOOOD point AB :)

Sorry to hear about your daughter @kimbo1962 Hope you get some answers tomorrow- always worrying when your children are ill no matter what age. I also don't think you get the same service from the PCAS or out of hours - they are great at emergencies but tend to think within that box so you get scared witless by half the things they suggest. We took junior once when he was very anxious with his OCD and the on call doctor made him worse.

5.8 this morning which is the same for most days. I don't seem to be able to get it lower but should I be to concerned about it particularly as my levels are often low 5s or 4s throughout the day

I wouldn't be at all concerned. It is consistent, and your liver is keeping you there overnight. Maybe your liver knows best.

Personally I'd say its ideal but am pre-diabetic; no meds. Your "ideal" may be different. I drift mainly between 4.4 and 5.8

If I've not already welcomed you to the madhouse/thread Daphne, consider it done. :)

I was on Sitagliptin for a while but came off it in August as my hba1c was 40 and the DN thought that statins had increased my BS from 6.8 at diagnosis to 7.2. My last hba1c in November was 42 which is considered acceptable so am now diet only again. I think by comparing my readings to others I'm worrying unnecessarily so I've decided to be happy with my levels as we are all individuals after all!!
