Hi Adrian... it's worrying when you have that morning spike, I know... I'm still trying to bring mine down - 6.3 today... higher than I like, but I still have a bad sinus problem, so I'm hoping it's that... could you not make four meals a day and try not to go so long between eating? I know it's a pain trying to find something different all the time, but might it be worth a try? Maybe you're getting too empty?
Hi Susikav. I've never really thought about adding another meal but it is something that's do-able. Just means I'll be adding another couple of BS tests to my daily list........................eh Eddie1968:D

I think I've found out why I was getting the same high readings of 7.9. This afternoon I picked up my latest batch of needles and strips for my new monitor which I've only used once. I'm trying very hard here to word this without going into a novel about it, so here's the very short version...............

Old system had a 6 needles barrel which you inserted into the pricker and rotated every time you used it.
New system has single use needles which need replacing after each use. I thought the new ones worked the same as the old ones and therefore used the same needle 3 times. It may be that I was getting the same reading due to contamination. I might be wrong but after changing the needle I got a reading of 5.8. i will keep checking and see what happens.
Is that the Accu Chek Mobile? Mine has a 6-needle barrel and a cassette with 50 tests in it... you change the needle every time whichever system you use, don't you? Should you never use the same sharp twice? Or have I been wasting them?

You've been wasting them.......................
Well according to my local pharmacist this afternoon, you can use them more than once as is the opinion of other members on here.

A little whinge now and again is allowed ;). Hope you're feeling a little better now x
Thank you Jan - I feel so much better! Just suddenly, after 12 days... I woke up to a massive cold-sore the other day and this morning it was healing... sinuses draining, no more pain and no more smell of camel-pooh all the time... I feel like a new person... my immune system must have got up and running in the night... :)

Camel Pooh??

Yes I love to stroke them.. mind one of mine can be equally stress inducing when he's turned his nose up at every cat food option on offer.
They're a nightmare when they're picky... I have four and one of them will only eat one food... If I can't get it, she starves herself... so small and pretty and such a tyrant... :)

I forgot to say - my BG this morning was 109/6.1... :( Although it is going down again... sinuses almost fixed so fingers crossed it will be better tomorrow...I have tried eating a late supper of cauliflower and broccoli cheese... I shall have hot chocolate made with cacao and cream too... :)
