Looks up :wideyed: at all the low fasting numbers with envy:yuck:

5.1 before bed
6.2 fasting
9.7 before breakfast ahhhhhhhhh

Was prepared for a high reading (for me) this morning, later dinner then snack just before bed, reading going to bed 7.0

This morning 4.9, didn't retest either since both are in acceptable range for moi.

Have a good day.

An amazing 4.7 pre dinner and not happy with that ... too low for my liking. Never been that level B4. Light lunches (put it down to one avocado to blame for 3 consecutive days and that's it) and have to build that up.

Morning to all of you :) MD :)

Mike – Please don’t be afraid of a lower number, provided you feel OK. You have been working on your numbers, and have pretty much reined them into shape. Unless you starved yourself, I might be inclined to think you may see more of these 4 numbers, because your daytime and evening numbers are in great shape these days.

Has your wife tested alongside you at any time? If so, what numbers does she see? Non-diabetics see numbers in the 4s and the 3s “all the time”. By that I mean it’s perfectly normal, although they may feel hungry when their numbers get low. Then, they just tend to eat something.

If non-diabetics get these numbers, and we’re looking to achieve/mimic non-diabetic blood profiles, then perhaps we should be happy to see these numbers?

I’d suggest you don’t tweak any of your eating unless you establish a pattern of numbers you are uncomfortable with. Making changes based on a single number you haven’t liked just doesn’t make sense. We know this isn’t an exact science.

I have a 4.5 this morning, which is at the high tip of my personal morning range. I’m supremely unconcerned by this and pretty certain it’s as a result of eating a lot of protein last night at dinner. I had cooked a piece of meat, which I thought might be enough to provide for a snack or light lunch, in addition to my dinner. When it had cooked, it wasn’t quite so generous, and there wasn’t much left over. Erm,…………… I had seconds, and then there were no leftovers! I’m fine with that. I knew what to expect.

I get down to between 4.2 and 4.7 pre meals and my HbA1c shows me as "normal" now. Does the low number worry you because of meds or don't you feel right?

Hi AB :)

I do not starve myself and would never consider doing it :) Asked my lady today re testing and it was a flat "no" and I can understand that.

In 6 months, I've gone from 8s and 9s down to 6s and now less. I agree with your last para. It will still warrant work.

Take care :) Mike.

Hi SJ

Seems a little low to me and maybe, more lunch? Too much of a drop in too quick a time.. Sleep well

Mike :)

5.7 bedtime
6.8 at fasting

Really pleased with these numbers.... it's been a while since I've seen 5 - 6 on meter.
Could be due to the chickpea flour pancakes & salad which I ate for lunch and again for dinner, they were delicious

Hi guys.
I didn't take a reading last night but its been about 13 hours since I ate and this morning I was 10.4. I haven't been prescribed any meds and although I have no details I know my HBa1C was "high".
Any advice on what to eat today?
(I've been bad and not eaten anything yet cos I'm busy at work)

Just a quarter butter to flour. You need big pinch of xanthan gum per each 100gs of flour or the pastry is too short and breaks even when being rolled. Used the same amount of flour as I would've done for "normal" flour.

I must get some xanthan gum, dont know if the supermarkets in UK sell it but will have a search.

I haven't been here for a couple of days and just noticed the results in your signature

WELL DONE Jan :happy::happy::happy: I'm so very pleased for you.

Hello and welcome to the forum. First of all I suggest you ring your surgery and ask for your HbA1c results, and also ask for a print out of the blood tests you had for diagnosis. Then I suggest you start your own thread where everyone will see it and be able to offer advice and you will be able to ask questions. Not everyone will see this thread as it is intended for people to record their fasting readings. Good luck on your journey and hope to see your own thread soon.
