5.0 am fasting
So true, and I found the portions thing the hardest at first. All I can say is, find something that works and eat plenty of it. In time though, your stomach and body will get used to smaller portions and lower blood sugar readings. I was very out of control with my portions before and I quite like the way I have to be more controlled now. Yes,it's a pain at times, but I had enough carbs in 30 odd years to last me a lifetime and now I must abstain! Good luckI try but its hard because I have and always have had a huge appetite and can eat loads without putting on weight. Without at least some carbs I'm starving. I try and stick the the quartering the plate thing.
For now im happy with the 6's. The one time I went under i was really rough and sick. My body is so used to running in high BS levels I think.
Glad you got some sleep it will help you get better8.4 today, probably due to Thornton yesterday . Still feeling ill but at least I managed to get some sleep last night
Congratulations..Your break couldn't come at a better time really, you've been through so much lately... Enjoy it.. the weather will be kind in May... Don't miss the Burj al Khalifa - sit on the terrace in the evening and wait for the music and the fountains to start - fabulous... Mall of the Emirates has a ski slope - you can put your winter clothes on and play in the snow - or just look at everyone skiing through the glass.. amazing... So many shopping malls full of lovely things... Tea at the Burj al Arab is hugely expensive, but check it out online... it's so worth it and it's the only way to get into that fabulous hotel and look around... next door to it is the Madinat Jumeirah, which is an indoor 'market'... so beautiful and just full of lovely restaurants - Trader Vic's is cocktail heaven and lovely inside.... you can walk for hours in there... Gosh, there's so much to see and do... the beaches are lovely... There's a trip down The Creek in a dhow at night, and Dubai is like a huge Christmas tree - usually they feed you very well on the boats... I will get in touch with a friend there and see what she can come up with - we used to be there every month but don't have any projects there at the moment, and the place changes every day...
It really is lovely and the restaurants are lush... Don't forget to do a Friday 'brunch'... ahhh, if you like bubbly, that is...
It comes non-stop, so you have to gird your loins a bit... Friday is the first day of the weekend out this way you see... Saturday is also a day off, so everywhere will be packed... if you like people and noise it is fantastic - every nation under the sun represented.... I love Dubai, but we prefer to live here in our 'village'... You can camp out in the desert too, but I never wanted to do that, however luxurious... I spend too much time working in it...
The desert at night is stunning though... I do hope you'll have a wonderful anniversary trip...
My new Codefree arrived this morning so back to business at last!Enjoy your well-earned weekend Kimbo...![]()
