Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

Love my hot chocolate every night, cocoa, sweetener and double cream usually - but I picked up some alpro coconut milk while shopping the other day, on offer in morrisons for £1.....think I may well try that tonight??!

I've usually used the Alpro unsweetened almond milk with mine, but have also been adding double cream to it recently - I'm sleeping better while I've had the creamy extra!

(I used to be a bedtime Ovaltine freak until I had to start looking at labels for sugar/carb content. My first taste of Ovaltine was during the last war as a very tiny girl, when I used to be given a spoonful or so on a saucer by my late granny who fed it to me in place of unobtainable/rationed sweeties! So it was a long term love affair with the stuff!! :p:p:p)

Fasting today very late again at just after 1pm, a miserable 7.6, probably health related as I'm feeling very "woozy" . I did initially think it might be some sweetish hand cream residue, but was 7.8 when I tested 45 mins later before eating.

6.7 this morning - what happened to the days when I was in the mid-5s? :( Have been really good with the carbs this week, too. Not fully back on the Newcastle Diet but have been well below 2000 calories most days this week and my weight has reduced since last week. Not done as much exercise as I would have liked but managed to do some HIT this morning and will be going for a walk shortly.

I had a late (3PM) lunch after a 3.5 mile walk and only had a couple of rashers of bacon for breakfast beforehand. Lunch was home made mushroom soup and some cheese. I tested before actually eating lunch and it was 5.8. Nice to have 5 point something even if not a fasting reading.

Your numbers look very similar to what mine did in the first two months - it's fantastic progress and you should be proud, not anxious!
This is a marathon, not a sprint and if you keep doing what you're doing I'm sure they'll gradually drop even lower

Apologies if already asked but are you still on the Metformin?

Day47 ND 4.7mmol/l Sunny all morning and warm this afternoon, going out to dinner in full fig this evening, hope I can keep the carb count low, dreading the effect on my report card.

Be strong, your report card is very impressive to date, dont spoil it after so much hard work and determination.[ In full fig, a new expression for me, never heard of it before]

Apologies if already asked but are you still on the Metformin?

Yeah, doctor or DN haven't mentioned anything about coming off if and I have no side effects from it so I'm quite happy to keep taking it at the moment.

4.8 this morning

You are such an encouraging voice in my head, dear Pasha
In full fig, for us, means dressed in evening clothes, shiny and bandbox.

My ketones are 1.9

Morning campers

Pee stix 1.5 ish. Blood ketones 1.3. Liking the comparisons between bloods and ketones @Pasha and @Merrylizard1314. Thanks for posting - very useful information. Have a good one tonight Merryliz.
