Type one and dental

So being diabetic we get free prescriptions, foot care, eye care etc. But the only thing I'm actually suffering real bad is my teeth since being diagnosed last summer. All my life my tooth care fantastic not even a filling!!! I know have chronic tooth ache receding gums and wobbly teeth. Not receiving working tax credits anymore can not afford dental care. Any help pls most grateful
 
Have a nhs exception card I presume that's due to my Dla entitlement. So would that give me help towards dental costs

I don't think enough education is given to type 1 diabetics when diagnosed about the importance of dental care, you really have to take care of your teeth, so cleaning properly, use dental brushes, having a regular hygienist appointment. Infection has a direct impact on blood glucose levels and is harder to control, I've had 3 abcesses since diagnosis which has been a nightmare on my levels, so I am absolutely religious about dental care now, it's so important to take care of them.

Normally high blood sugars cause loose/wobbly teeth, so have you managed to keep your bloods is at a reasonable level?
 
Receding gums can be due to high bg levels, if your bg isn't well controlled you should see some improvement when you tighten things up @Tylers73.
