Anyone have some good information to our immune system and diabetes. I always feel like a sponge to bugs so does diabetes affect our immune system or not?????
 
Hi, I very rarely get coughs and colds/bugs, but I have other auto immune conditions, that are linked to diabetes, type 1.

I don't get any more bugs now than before I was diagnosed. However, just before diagnosis I did feel run down and had had a few bugs in a short time. Once I started on insulin, I felt a lot better.

I think it's more high sugars rather than the diabetes itself.
