Type zeros and questions about pumps

"So that does it all for you then" is the one I hear third most often. My top two comments from Type 0s are "Is that a pedometer?" and "Is that an MP3 player?" : D

Most don't even notice it though.

Lol, I am only 3 days in and have lost count of how many I have heard

Absolutely terrific blog post, @Type1Bri - some very useful explanations there which I will remember for when I'm explaining to people what the gadget is I'm fiddling with!

Someone was asking me about my Libre sensor in the summer, and was really impressed that it monitored glucose levels. We moved on to talking about my pump, and she lost interest (and indeed all comprehension!) when I said 'no, the sensor doesn't talk to the pump or tell it to do anything - I still have to do all that.'

She drifted away in a cloud of what I can only describe as pity, with an obvious air of 'what's the point?'.

Need to close that loop! Roll on the artificial pancreas!

:)

Yeah more family asking the questions, and few work colleagues

I've had 3 comments in just over 9 years of pumping all from children asking what that was on my pocket.

There was one very memorable comment from a little girl who saw my tubing this summer " Mum, Mum look that lady has a tube like me"
The little lass had a feeding tube attached via her nose. :( So we exchanged a high 5 and admired her pink tubing compared to my clear tubing. :)
