Diabetes grrrrr!!!!
Hi guys, im new here, my name is Susan and I'm 40yrs young lol I'm very much overweight and have been exercising in the gym everyday and eating health food, I'm looking to see if there is any weight loss medications that your GP can prescribe to help with weight loss. I know there is saxenda injection but this seems to be for type 2 only, but I've also seen orlistat but don't know if that is suitable for type1 diabetics?? I don't know if there is anything else out there that I can try, If anyone knows of any medications that are suitable for type1 please let me know. Thanks guys

Hi there @virgogal

I strongly recommend looking at calories eaten, we can become quite obsessed with carbs when using insulin for forget that calories is the important calculation for weight loss, am unsure about medications/injections so can't advise on that.

Hi, i only know about this cause my sister used it but it's called saxenda. You can't use this with diabetes as far as I know, but there are similar alternatives like orlistat. You can speak to your go about it or even fill in some paperwork online at boots or superdrug and their people go over it to see if you would qualify. Good luck.

Thank you racoonbaffon, I've made an appointment with my GP to discuss my options. Thank you so much x
