Type1 diabetes and pregnancy

Hello friends,
Myself Nishita, type1 diabetes from past 18yrs and now I’m 2 weeks pregnant with hba1c 8 and lot of fluctuations with daily checks. Doctors are telling that as Hba1c level is 8 and I can continue my pregnancy on my risk. Can anyone plz suggest or tell me will 8 be ok or can I reduce my Hba1c within weeks? Plz help me I’m totally confused.

Hello @Nikkisandy Congratulations on your pregnancy. Who is looking after you from your healthcare team ? The doctors are going to say there will be risks but they should be supporting you. Your HbA1c is measured on a 3 month average so it's there as a guide, I would suggest to look at taking each day at a time in managing your control, what does your current regime look like, so are you on multiple daily injections ? What insulins are you using ?
