Type2 Blog...the race is on

You might find you could lower your bgs simply by getting the conventional 7-8 hours sleep.

That is a mega ‘like’ thank you very much. This week has been 3 weeks too long in coming to terms with my agenda. Understanding or an equal medium has rested at my doors and opened my eyes to many things about human anatomy and more than I never knew. This the turn of week 3 and is my next process. The “getting to know myself” has been a real eye opener with nutrition and something that I religiously have always used to my advantage. Putting the pieces together and understanding my or the tolerances of my anatomy. Using this newly acquired monitor has been even more of an eye opener as I reduce or change my life style habits. Even the current healthy ingredients that are and have been abundant in my life can and do actually have a critical impact ones Solar System; the eye tweaking continues in amazement as I am savvy and low eliminate or lower the tone. It is fascinating so tomorrow is the start of progressive physical introduction through timing my day better. I had it perfect pre-British Army but the years may have taken their tolls out on me as I have regrettably paying dividends to as I have allowed my real life encroach my space. So yes some much needed selfishness will be involved as I juggle day to day life! I surmise that some positiveness has come to me to which I am already wholesale with. My partner and kids are already seeing a better me physically, mentally including a spice of spirituality.

I hope you are all had a positive day in you own personal way. Enjoy.

Hi Dean, you’re doing very well mainting your low bg levels and with such a positive attitude. I’ve recently been diagnosed with type 2 and take insulin. The whole illness has become a massive challenge for me but I will use your enthusiasm to succeed as inspiration. Thank you

I wish you all the best and applaud you in your long strive to succeed. Thank you.

Hi
Just an idea re testing - if you have enough money, try the Abbott freestyle libre instead of constant finger prick testing. It will give you an excellent 24 hour picture of your blood glucose levels and how you respond to particular foods.
I use it intermittently (when I can afford it!) And it is also a powerful incentive to stay low carb. I also track macros on an app on my phone.

See...it is another welcomed entity in the fight for better wealth. I will look in to this with huge admiration. Thank you, this is great.

So this morning....

Wake, get ready, test

Eat: 2 Weetabix, just enough KLIM to soak/ saturate the biscuits, 10 Grapes, 5 Strawberries and a Coffee(no sugar) and a splash of KLIM....

@Dean76 How long after eating did you get the 7.5 reading? If it was 2 hours after eating that is good.

Pre dinner

A little after the 2 hour window. If it’s negative then i’ll take a hit for not hitting the barn door.

Sorry it’s upside down. May have done a little more relaxing after dinner.

My dinner was good too. And i’ll be honest.

2 chicken breasts (1 chicken breast each)
Punnet of Mushrooms
2 tomatoes quartered
1 onion
1 celery stick
Sprinkle of hot Chilli powder
Loads of dry and fresh herbs ground down
I made a sauce out of 2 teaspoons of Philadelphia and 1 teaspoon of Burger Mustard. 1 can of plum tomatoes, black pepper and a rise of water of the tomato can.
1 medium bag from Co-Op of egg pasta(I know it has a percentage of Wheat/ Carb) 170g per half a bag. I’ve not even hit the RDA of a human. I’m also fully aware to have it as a rare treat. So I divided it in to 4 portions.

Doing strangely well today....

2 Weetabix, palm of Blueberries, palm of Grapes and a Plum quartered.

Drank a pint of water, made a coffee(splash of milk). Grabbed my 2 litre bottle of water and set off for work.

How does that work.....?

You don't say how long after eating you tested. Sometimes for some people it can take 2 / 3 / even 4 hours for the food to be digested and the bg to rise.

I think I am happy apart from being slightly myth’d!!

I have taken positive steps these last 3-4 weeks from Waking hour to Bedtime. Setting routine alarms for everyday usage to include Pre-test, Consume Nutrition, Post-test and Consume H2O. I have also included as someone rightly pointed out....get a minimum of 8 hours sleep. I have ignored this quality treat for far too long sustaining 3-4 hours a night for as long as I can remember.

My sleep is so much more satisfying since my diagnosis, striking my aliment with a Huge sucker punch. Even my partner and young Hobbits have blurted to me that they have not heard me causing an earthquake with snoring. Haha....And I feel so relaxed about it too and thanks to you guys your wisdom and support has opened my eyes to many things. I made the right choice coming here. I have learned so much in a short space of time from...all of you. Things that I have missed or taken for granted for so long. Finding out that the things that I have always eaten that are considered absolute healthy ‘spike my blood’ to the extent that has given me a shock.

Everything from reading more, asking questions and getting feed back. Being absolutely savvy with everything from Sleep, hygiene, nutrition intake, the all important and spiritual breaks and downtime....whilst juggling work loads and a hectic life. My journey to here has been epic.

It took me a while to pluck the courage to purchase the all important ‘blood whaling machine’...such a vicious entity. But it is my apathy in understanding myself more. With all your help filling in the blanks when I am slightly puzzled. And it is these blanks that I still have much to learn. So thank you.

I know it sounds a bit “sphincter kissing” but it is far cry from the truth because I honestly felt alone the first 2-3 weeks.
Everything that I already know about nutrition, bodybuilding and physical endurance is a far cry from the reality of food. We all need it but are unaware of the realistic dangers it can create. I have even roped fellow normal healthy gym buddies in to observing triggers. Trying to understand the philosophy.

I hope you share much enthusiasm as I do and can decipher anything I’m expressing. As a famous singer once said “It's just the way I sing. If I tried to control it, it would be pretty false."

Diabetes, there is nothing up my sleeve, i’m just pushing an Elephant up the stairs.

Have a good day guys.

You don't say how long after eating you tested. Sometimes for some people it can take 2 / 3 / even 4 hours for the food to be digested and the bg to rise.

The time is on the display of the monitor complete with date!

It was the second strip that I used as the first dictated ‘Low’. So that was discarded and on the second strip the reading is 4.9.

I have not eaten since breakfast, not really hungry...feeling a little peckish now though so my body can burn some weight off! But tested every 2 hours nether-less to get in to the habit incase I eat and also to record fluctuations. Stabilisation possibly?
