Hi
Recently diagnosed T2 05/04/16 and hb1ac 55. 6 weeks later I had reduced back to pre diabetic level of 47. I changed my diet but was unsure of what food did the trick! I have signed up to Type2Testing so I can gauge which foods are good and which I need to avoid. My question is - I test just before a meal and 2 hours after. Do I count the 2 hours from the beginning of the meal or the end?

From first bite!

Because your hormones are alerted by the process of making saliva!

Yes, test immediately before you start eating and then 2 hours after your initial test.

Foods that will tend to raise your glucose levels are high in carbohydrates so watch both sugary and starchy foods.

Food that is higher in fats will have much less or no impact on levels.
