unexpected readings

I have had some higher than expected readings over the last 2-3 days. These readings have not corresponded with how I have felt - I have felt like my blood sugar was lower :?: or what I have eaten, not usually things that would send me up that high.

My sleeping patterns are all over the place - might this affect readings?

Also, might different stages of my menstrual cycle affect my readings?

thanks

Hi Spiral.

Blood Glucose : What Raises & Lowers It?

Any of the following could be responsible for raising the blood glucose levels :
Food & diet, stress, illness, exercise, dawn phenomenon, menstruation, pregnancy, certain medications

Similarly some of the following could be responsible for lowering the blood glucose levels:
Insulin, oral diabetes medication, exercise, alcohol, menstruation, sexual activity.

Ken.

This happened to me yesterday , I took a reading it was 4.2 (I am thinking about coming off Amaryl as I don't like a side effect)

I ate my normal breakfast of yoghurt etc so not sure why my reading was so low. I blame the heat

I would keep a record of your menstural cycle/BG levels, see if it happens next time.

Menstrual cycle does have an effect. as suggested, keep a record.
