Im sure this question has been asked before....
I picked up repeat prescriptions from chemist on monday but forgot to put insulin away in fridge and was left in paper bag in south facing bedroom till friday.
It is unopened box and is in plastic bag, now in fridge but will it still be usable? It wasnt in direct sunlight.
Got a new prescription but even doctor didnt seem sure - havent yet been able to get to chemist to ask pharmacist.
If it has to be disposed of i feel bad for wasting precious NHS funds! How much does a box cost i wonder? (Humulin M3)
I have enough for weekend.

How does it degrade?
thanks for some answers,

Even out of the fridge, they're ok for about a month. So, no need to throw it all away. I would just use it. Possibly put your next prescription in a week earlier so if you see your levels start to rise, due to inefficiency of insulin, you can use new batch.

insulin can be kept out of the fridge for about 4 weeks as long as it doesn't get above 25degC. Do you think the room got above 25deg?
