They think that I'm wasting my time with my HCT and that they aren't doing anything for me. My siblings are all older than me.What is it you feel like you need help/support with hun? From reading your other posts your 17 years old? As an adult it is up to your who you see/speak to on your health care team, why do your parents not like your HCT? Are you siblings older or younger? X
You can see your healthcare team by yourself.
Your parents don't need to be included, especially if they impose their feelings about them on you.
If you are indeed 17, you will soon officially be an adult... So you can start the ball rolling now.
Do you find the whole diabetes side of things difficult to handle? Are your readings within normal ranges or are you struggling with them?
I just find that I can't accept the fact I have the disease and I just want to feel that I have support around me everyday which isn't happening right now.
Support in what aspect??
Is it because say, you have to test n inject before meals and parents/siblings don't appreciate that fact?
Or is it that you been told that you have to have a restricted diet (which you don't)? Or going out with friends, and them doing what they want to but you been told you can't?
Is it support just relating to diabetes or more?
Support in helping me through the tougher days when things are not as easy as other days and just generally helping me with my diabetes.
How is your relationship with your parents and siblings generally - is it just diabetes they aren't interested in or is it everything you do?
Perhaps they are worried that you will think they are trying to interfere too much?
Could you try and talk to one of them - pick the one you think will be most likely to listen and tell them you are struggling?
Hi how old are you, a child, teenager, young adult ? I am sorry to hear of your problems, we all need support from our loved ones, diabetes can feel like a burden or the end of a normal for some people, and type 1 can be a hard slog at times. Is there anything that you really need to say or ask, a good way might be to write a little letter explaining how you really feel and leave it in a place it would be seen ? as it can be so horrible to feel alone and invisible.
Take good care
