I have just had my annual bloods result from my doctor.
My Blood Sugar is now 46 (previously 55) and my Cholestrol is now 3.4 (prev, 5.5).

My question is this, is this a good result after 12 months of taking Metformin (1000mg) daily, and 20mg of Atorvastat
I would love to get off this medication.

Hi @Steve A and welcome to the forums.

I'm not going to comment on the cholesterol result (it's a bit of a contentious subject).

As for the hba1c, 46 now puts you just into non diabetic territory, which is excellent.

However, if you want to come off the metformin (which is probably reducing your hba1c by about 10), you'll need to do something else to reduce your levels.

So have you changed anything (lost weight, different diet, more exercise) that could take the place of the metformin?

Here is a link t my favourite intro to low carb and T2 (should you want to go that route).
