Urine Sample - Fasting or Not??

Attended the nurse today [month follow up] to give fasting bloods and apparently I should have brought a urine sample (nobody told me), I was given a bottle to hand in a sample when I'm at the doctors next week.

Q) Does this urine sample have to be fasting as well like the blood samples? I never thought to ask :?

the simple answer is 'no'... it's fine

Not necessarily fasting, but probably "early morning" ie first urine passed in the morning. Best ask the person who gace the bottle or check for any mention of EMU (Early Morning Urine).

It's usually first thing in the morning, so in my case would always be fasting :wink:
