Vaping

I had tried vaping but the lure of smoking was stronger.
At the moment I am trying the menthol herbal cigarettes.
They claim to be nicotine and tobacco free and taste ok

I am a vaper, have been for 3 years. It doesn't suit everyone. It is more regulated now and safer but not as safe as never smoking or giving up completely. The regulation has caused increased prices, business closures and limiting of products.

There is no long term research into the safety of vaping.

My GP was happy with my change. I have looked at eliquid raising blood sugar levels and found that some type 1's have had problems with a few flavours. Artificial sweetners are used.

It has, so far, been positive for me, no weight gain compared to giving up smoking before for 7 years and 2 years, I can vape the flavours I can't eat, I have no coughs that last for weeks and I exercise more.

I found the UK forum AAEC very helpful for advice when starting.

I've been vaping 4 yrs and have to say it's all been a positive experience for myself no effect on my sugars as I can see and as above I vape all the nice things I cannot eat :)

I have not had a cig for 18 months since I started vaping. Not one. I have not gained weight, it does not affect my BG, and it is astronomically cheaper. It also smells a whole lot better, both in my house and on my clothing and hair.

Vaping for over 2 years after kicking a 32 yr 30 a day habit. Haven't looked back since, the health benefits have been immense. More importantly, vaping blueberry custard and strawberry yogurt kills the sweet tooth cravings dead for me. If I can't eat it, I'll vape it instead. I make my own liquid now which costs pennies if you make it in bulk. Around £25 a litre for the flavours I like and a litre will last for a few months at a time.

Quit smoking nearly 10 months ago and vape now, as well as using sugar-free nicotine gum.

It's made no difference to my blood glucose as far as I know, but the BIG difference is that I'm not smoking after many years of trying and failing to quiet.

The only other change is that once I started following LCHF and lost my sweet tooth, I went off all the dessert-style e-juices and started buying sharp, citrussy ones instead!

I have started to make my own as well love some of the fruit flavours

Been vaping for 14 months and good to see that it does not increase BG
Thanks
There is evidence that high nicotine concentration can impact BG negatively. I found it very easy to lower to 3mg nic content though which v has zero impact for me. It does mean that I end up chain vaping though at around 15-20ml a day. I only eat once a day though and fast the rest of the time. I really need to vape less to be honest but I enjoy it so much.

I think you don't have much time to eat if you vape that much

Been sub ohm vaping for about 3 years. make my own juice and only need very low nicotine because it's sub ohms. no blood sugar issues.

I am also at 3 ml and sub ohm but not anything like 15-20 mls a day.

I have been nicotine free for 25 years, ever since I stopped smoking cold turkey with out the use of nicotine patches or nicotine chewing gum.

Those artificial cigarettes were not around then, but if they were I would not have used one as it's the nicotine you are addicted to, and that's the habit you have to break.
