Vedda Blood Sugar Remedy

I read this advertisement the other day. It sounds like a scam, surely to sell something as good as that is supposed to be it wouldn't need such a ridiculously long story to sell it.
The whole story I thought 'redolent of rodent!' But perhaps such wonders do fall from heaven into the laps of those who know how to make a quick buck?

I agree entirely - the longer the sales pitch, the more time they have to woffle on with pseudo science type jargon about their miraculous product without giving you any actual information, and the less likely it is to be genuine, IMO...

I sat through one such mind boggling "presentation" once out of idle curiosity, but never again....

Hi PDXYankee: How is your progress? I am also looking for alternate medicines for this life-style disease, I am eagerly waiting to see your results.... Thanks.

I was going to post a comment a week ago but saw all the negative remarks and didn't want to get into a row. Now I've been doing this Vedda diet for two weeks, I can say, it works for me. I've had readings usually over 13.6 and up to over 20 for over two years but have resisted going on insulin. After this short space of time, my levels are between 7.5 and 10.9 - obviously still not perfect but I'm hopeful of it continuing.

Of course, the low-carb-café people on a site I use WRL also has some excellent advice from members and this is very similar. The difference I think this time is this Vedda diet is much stricter and I hate it, almost giving up until my readings dropped below 8 - that soon changed my mind. The decrease isn't quick but after fifteen years with this condition, I didn't expect it to be.

Being a person lacking in willpower, I wasn't sure how I would get on but the change in my body and outlook is so great that I'd be an idiot to stop. Energy levels are back to when I was in my forties (I'm 64 now) and I no longer feel so completely exhausted during the day as I have done for years.

The only disappointment is I've not lost a great deal of weight - only eight pounds so far - but, what the heck, I feel better and my levels are dropping. So, I can only speak as I find and I'm happy with this eating plan.

you posted that 16 weeks ago - any chance of an update?

I started following this diet one week ago. I am impressedhow much better I feel. I will up date my reading weekly to show if it is having the desired effect. Growing to love coconut - water, milk, oil, flour, cream. Does anyone know if cows milk and butter are a no no on this scheme?

End of week 1. Took blood sugar reading 6 times a day on the first day of diet and again on the 8th day. Readings showed an average of 11.0 on day 1 and 9.5 on day 8. Weight loss was 3 lbs. I can't say that I stuck strictly to the diet and cheated at the weekend having blackberry and apple tart and a couple of glasses of wine. The results are encouraging enough for me to continue. Becoming enthusiastic about kale!

Week 2.Av readings over one day 7.8. Weight 144lbs, another loss of 2 lbs. Not sure if this is because I am being really careful about what I eat or because of the Vedda Diet itself. I am definitely occasionally cheating. The recipes included with the diet are very odd - all of them seem to have a cooking time of 3 to 4 hours. This does not work for me. Too many other commitments!

There was a guy here in the parking lot at Walmart selling that stuff out of his RV. Said he was a Professor of Diabetes on his white coat.

Week 4.Still continuing but still occasionally cheating!! Went for a curry on Sunday. MY results are still improving. Weight 143 lbs Average readings over day 7.4. To put this in perspective I am 74, have had Type 2 for nearly 30 years, my current prescription is Alogliptin 25mg, Gliclazide 30mg Metformin 500 mg, Invokana 100mg. I also take Levothyroxine sodium 100micrograms and Statins and Trandolapril. I was so disappointed with my visit with the diabetes nurse five weeks ago when I was told that a reading of 15 was not unusual and to stop taking readings for six weeks that I decided to research how to reverse the disease myself. I was very dubious about the Vedda diet - it sounded too good to be true but it (or my adapted version of it ) appears to be working. I am going to ask my doctor is I can now start weaning myself off some of the tablets

Try cooking with Instant Pot. I heard it's very easy to use and results are good. I'm going to get one.

I have ordered this book and read it online. It is too early to know if it works for me. I am 79 years of age and have an HBA1C reading of 49, which is controlled by dieting and exercise (walking). I am now taking coconut oil capsules and 2 spoonfuls of apple cider vinegar before meals. I also take statins and lisinopril as prescribed by the doctor. Some of the points raised are recommended by other people such as eating brown bread and rice, eating plenty of vegetables and fruit, avoiding canned and processed foods, cutting down on fried food etc.
I only have a 6 month blood test. However my cholesterol level is only 4.0 and my blood pressure reading is 126/64. I have to take it seriously as I am blind in the left eye due to an accident at 6 years of age. My good eye is examined once a year and is O.K.
I am confused by the information produced as my reading is based on UK readings and would be interested to hear the results of UK readers who have tried out this method and whether there is an improvement after one year.

@jefflouis As none of the original poster's have returned since poring over 40 weeks ago, it seems unlikely that they have success stories to report.

If you pour scorn on Big Pharma but then set out to make big bucks yourself then you're no better are you. If the Vedda people have a special diet that prevents diabetes then that belongs to them and they should be the ones to benefit - not Little Pharma
