Taken on board your suggestions to add V********s to my meals so just want to know what’s suitable and what’s the recommended portions for them? Knob of butter on the top?
Please don’t make me say that word again
I didn't use to eat much veg, but have got into them since diagnosis. I always have some packs of frozen veg in freezer, broccoli, spinach, kale, green beans, cauliflower florets, and sweetcorn - that's not recommended but I have some occasionally.2 knobs of butter, minimum
My veg is usually just a vehicle for more bacon and cheese. (Cauli rice and broccoli rice). The vits and mins are an added bonus. Usually do the meat first, then toss the veggies in with the fats left in the pan.Taken on board your suggestions to add V********s to my meals so just want to know what’s suitable and what’s the recommended portions for them? I used to need a lot of butter, melted cheese or a sauce to disguise the taste, but now quite like them on their own, though I still put on the butter.
They are easy to cook, just a few minutes in steamer from frozen.
Portion size? Apart from the sweetcorn you can eat as much as you want.
Only if you boil them in a vat of butter
Boiling is ok, but is supposed to destroy a lot of the nutrients. Steaming only takes 4-5 minutes and doesn't reduce veg to soggy mush.I’m guessing it’s still okay to boil your veggies? Seems everyone fries them on here!
I think you are boiling far too long if you get mush. Why would steaming be quicker?Boiling is ok, but is supposed to destroy a lot of the nutrients. Steaming only takes 4-5 minutes and doesn't reduce veg to soogy mush.
That's how you add the bacon..Seems everyone fries them on here!
I haven't boiled veg for years. I always use a steamer. I boil water in kettle first to put in saucepan, then put veg in steamer above.I think you are boiling far too long if you get mush. Why would steaming be quicker?

You've got me with the several veg at once!I haven't boiled veg for years. I always use a steamer. I boil water in kettle first to put in saucepan, then put veg in steamer above.
I can steam 3 or 4 different veg at the same time, and they only take 4-5 minutes and are still recognisable.
I could do even more if I use a second steamer on top of the first! You've got me with the several veg at once!
I was only a £10.00 pom for a bit over two years, then I got naturalised Australian.ten pound pom... i remember three schoolfriends/families from my school leaving for aus. never to be seen again i think it was possibly 1967 or 1968 i remember the scarfe family coming past our primary school waving from the back of the removal lorry school ...thanks @Tipetoo for jogging my memory...so long ago.... i still live in the same village /small town the victorian school was pulled down thirty years ago and retirement flats were built on the site...

yes I know it has almond flour (or ground almonds) but you really can't taste it.... egg is optional miss it out if you like a crunchier base. I've never put the vinegar in either..
i rember mum and dad speaking about it i was horrified at ten years old ...do you know the sliding doors film?..ive often wondered where the alternate me would be now.......I was only a £10.00 pom for a bit over two years, then I got naturalised Australian.
Where does it go wrong? I've only made it a couple of times but both successful even without the microwave. I just melt the cheeses in a saucepan..I’ve tried to make 3 so far and still haven’t succeeded so have given up
OK its a good idea to use some non stick paper under it but if as you say you don't make it often..Not sure the base seems to stick and is difficult to remove - I’m not a big Pizza lover anyway so don’t bother.
