Veg...

Taken on board your suggestions to add V********s to my meals so just want to know what’s suitable and what’s the recommended portions for them? Knob of butter on the top?
Please don’t make me say that word again

2 knobs of butter, minimum :)
I didn't use to eat much veg, but have got into them since diagnosis. I always have some packs of frozen veg in freezer, broccoli, spinach, kale, green beans, cauliflower florets, and sweetcorn - that's not recommended but I have some occasionally.
I used to need a lot of butter, melted cheese or a sauce to disguise the taste, but now quite like them on their own, though I still put on the butter.
They are easy to cook, just a few minutes in steamer from frozen.
Portion size? Apart from the sweetcorn you can eat as much as you want.

My veg is usually just a vehicle for more bacon and cheese. (Cauli rice and broccoli rice). The vits and mins are an added bonus. Usually do the meat first, then toss the veggies in with the fats left in the pan.

I paid £10.00 in 1970 1969 to the Australian government.

Edit: Wrong year.

I’m guessing it’s still okay to boil your veggies? Seems everyone fries them on here!

I think you are boiling far too long if you get mush. Why would steaming be quicker?
I haven't boiled veg for years. I always use a steamer. I boil water in kettle first to put in saucepan, then put veg in steamer above.
I can steam 3 or 4 different veg at the same time, and they only take 4-5 minutes and are still recognisable.

You've got me with the several veg at once!

I was only a £10.00 pom for a bit over two years, then I got naturalised Australian.

I’ve tried to make 3 so far and still haven’t succeeded so have given up
Where does it go wrong? I've only made it a couple of times but both successful even without the microwave. I just melt the cheeses in a saucepan..

Not sure the base seems to stick and is difficult to remove - I’m not a big Pizza lover anyway so don’t bother.
