Vegetable juice

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere- I have done a search.

Is vegetable juice to be avoided in the same way as fruit juice for type 2?

I have just bought a fresh celery, spinach & lime (I know that's fruit!) juice which is delicious but I wonder if I should not be having it? I don't currently take medication if that makes a difference.

I think it all comes down to the carb content, and how your body reacts...

Do you have a blood glucose meter, to track how high it sends your bg?

And was it nice? :hungry:
 
It was lovely! No I don't have a meter so can't measure. Obviously I was hoping someone was going to say 'yes it's fine, drink as much as you like ' !! Thanks anyway.

Do you know how many carbs it had, per 100mls?
And what the ingredients were...
Is there a link to the brand?

I love green smoothies, and find that my bg is ok on them, but only if the proportions of fruit to veg, and the right kinds of veg are used...

If you wanted to get a meter, the cheapest one that i know of, is the SD Codefree, available from Homehealth, ebay and Amazon. Don't get one without shopping around - some of them are silly-expensive to run, when you are self funding.

These are all relatively low in carbs so should be ok - only one way to know for sure - you need to buy a meter! (I have an SD Codefree)

I think it sounds ok it must be fairly low carb as it is celery and spinach. I don't think the lime would have much impact on BG levels It sounds lovely who makes it
 
It sounds great. It is low carb so should raise your sugar levels. What proportions of celery/spinach do you use?
