Hi

Can anybody give me a basic rundown on how to set up a different basal rate on a veo pump.

Basically, I have a friend that went on to a pump yesterday and can't get hold of either his nurse, or his rep or medtronic to assist him to lower it.

On his first night he was low all during the night, and I need to get him to lower his basals from 10pm through to 6am....he is on a different pump to me, and I just don't know how to help him change his basals...

Please, please, can anybody help urgently, as I do not want him going low all night again...

Many thanks
Sharon

Thank you....have now got the manual..he does have one, but actually finding a talk through easier than a read through.

Have looked through manual and guess that I will be able to get him through it tonight to change them downward.

iHs also pointed me in right direction to find this manula, as I got so frustrated trying to go through their website. Having looked at the manual, it is not quite so clear as the accuchek one, but hopefully I can get him to get his basals lowered for tonight...

Thank you so much for your quick responses....fantastically quicker than his support!!!!!!

THANK YOU

10pm...

Thank you so much for your help...we have managed to get the pump set up as needed......vbery much appreciated....
I also have access to the online training manual, and though I don't (personally) think it is as clear as mine with it's instructions, I will now be able to help with bolus adjustments and the first change over in his cartridge......

Thank you so much.

My last quick question is:- if he has bubbles in his tuber-which he already has noticed.....which setting do you go into to prime them out...without the machine thinking you have given an extra bolus into your body.

I found away around it quicly tonightk, but I know it was not the right way to do it.........can anybody direct me to the page in the manual which tells you how to correctly do a prime to get bubbles out of the tubing?

I will (hopefully) tomorrow able to have more time to look at the online manual myself and to make sense of the machine. I am trying to help remotely by telephone, and it is quite hard, as it isn't the pump that I am used to.

Thanks everybody, I do appreciate your help enormously.

I have encouraged the person I am helping to look at this website for advice on pumps, so I hope that in the future he will join our community of fellow pumpers!!!!!

Thank you so much,.,,,Sha x

PS...his levels before going to bed were 8.1 so I am hoping that with the adjustments we have made it will keep him in sleep mode rather than hypo mode....Thns....Sha x :D
