One of my treats, and as a train driver, a convenience, used to be Kenco's '2in1' coffee sachets. Ok, they still contained 7.5% sugar but I'd risk one a day! Then a couple of weeks ago my wife and I made coffe from a new box and both recoiled at the taste. Wow, sweet or what?! I took out the box of sachets in my work bag and checked the ingredients against the new stuff and couldn't believe what I read; The sugar content had gone from 7.5% to 33.5%!!!!! I checked that it was actually '2in1' and not '3in1'. Nope, it was correct. '3in1' actually contains 57% sugar! On speaking to Kenco to ask what was going on it didn't seem to be any big deal, just something about this or that changing. Can the governments and medical industry please stop scratching their chins about Diabetes and get a grip on the food industry? It really shouldn't be difficult but is there something else going on here...?

Hi @buxtonmick

Not familiar with the Kenco product but the whitening in these coffee's often contain glucose syrup, that is why when you buy coffee from a vending machine you do have to be careful.

Just change brands or take a flask to work :)

I totally agree! With the 'obesity & diabetes' increasing within the country and the government wanting to control this, I'd certainly expect this kind of increase in sugar content to be 'against government wishes' (for want of a better phrase)

At first, after reading your post, I wondered if Kenco had an interest in the manufacture of Metformin, perhaps ;)

Shame on Kenco!!!

Get yourself a Zojirushi flask and never look back. Home-made coffee always tastes better and my Zojirushi 330mL flask stays piping hot for 8hrs+ and is incredibly light.

I agree about the food industry shovelling hidden sugar into their foods, their attitude is despicable and the government just don't want to get involved. They just shrug and walk away from the ticking time-bomb of metabolic disease facing this country.
